Smith makes Brooks expendable. Courtney Lee makes Martin expendable. It means Brooks and Martin are going out in a trade for Carmelo and the GM-less Nuggets get Moreyed!
Multi-year deal?!?!?! I was thinking it was a non gauranteed deal when I first heard the news weeks ago. Morey must see a lot in this kid. In Morey We Trust!
just realize he comes from the same school as Chris Paul, and has the same weight and same height. A Chris Paul lite?
Seems like a good guy who can pass the ball well, but he can't hit the side of a barn and he's a defensive liability due to his size (a la Brooks).
Interesting. He must be tearing it up in his workouts. If he can work on his shooting, He has elite quickness and fantastic court vision... This actually makes me excited that Daryl has found a player...
By "multi-year", I think it refers to the deal being a two-year deal, with the first year either non-guaranteed or only partially guaranteed for a nominal amount ($10k-$50k) and the second year being a team option.
A 3rd string PG is always good to have. Especialy since there are not a lot of ball handlers outside of Brooks and Lowry on this team.
Good signing, now we are so deep at every position. Its good to have him if Brooks or Lowry goes down for any reason this year. I think he'll be at RVG with JT a lot. He needs to work on his shooting, he has a nice floater though.
Certainly, because an undrafted rookie free agent definitely makes arguably the best backup PG in the NBA expendable.
I've been telling people all along that we don't expect to keep Brooks past the end of his rookie contract in 2011. My thought was that we would try to bring Llull over or use Llull as bait to bring a better PG over (from the same natl team?!) while we dumped Brooks off at the deadline for some bigger fish. Maybe Ish is just a stopgap in the case that it goes down like that?
