It is not about accountability for me, but rather perception. I do not perceive Anderson to be a bad player or a horrible contract. Did we overpay him compared to what most teams are willing to pay? Probably. I also think we value him a lot higher though, given the way our offense works under MDA. Things don't always work out. That doesn't mean it's a mistake however, just that things didn't work out. I still think having Anderson is not a bad thing for our team and definitely not as bad as some people are making it sound like. It's only because his name has been linked to other better players that a lot of people are overreacting in typical idiotic CF fashion.
the thing is he has one singular skill, and is a liability in every other facet of the game. and in the playoffs that alleged skill yielded a putrid 28% from the arc!
Morey does not only tell the truth he sells the truth. If press shuts up and all of the anticipation for Carmelo trade dies, the price goes down. It's a gamble in regards to the Cavs, but they really do not have much more to give NY. The longer he's Knick the lower the price is and if Houston is "moving on" same applies not good for Clutchfans but smart for the Rockets.
Anderson shot 40% from three during the regular season... Had he shot like that in the playoffs, we wouldn't be dying for him to be released. He's great for this offense. Yes, he's overpriced a bit, but he still brings a lot of value to the team. I think people are allowing the last few weeks of the season to override anything he had previously done for this team. Obviously, if we can trade him to upgrade, you do it... But it's not the worst thing in the world to have him on the roster.
All Morey is indicating here is that he's not going to be hurried into a bad deal just to land another big name. Right now, the free agent and trade market have kind of stalled and there isn't a deal to be had. Per various reports (including Bobby Marks of ESPN), the total # and $ amount of FA signings have been much lower and some players are getting frustrated enough to think about firing agents. We also hear about a number of teams either wanting to dump salary or take in salary dumps for assets, but no deals really being struck. Seems like the market participants are trying to adjust to the new landscape. If and when things start moving again, the Rockets are not gonna just sit out because he told Feigen and Bill Simmons so.

Hate to say it but when I think of bargain hunting, first name that comes to mind is DMo. Granted at this point what the only two people he's familiar with on the team are JH and Ariza? lol Again only for the idea of 'bargain' do I think he's a fine fit. If he passes a physical (OMG HERE WE GO AGAIN) I have no issue giving him a contract.

Exactly. Small sample size of 11 playoff games shouldn't make or break a player. He shot 40% from 3 in his two prior playoff trips. Reality about three point shooting is that it is streaky. It's not like dunks and layups
Was coming in to post this exact same sentiment. He kept us alive and winning in the regular season and no doubt choked in the playoffs. However, it's not the end of the world having him still on the roster. I think having another playmaker in cp3 is gonna help out both capella and ryno. But of course you move him if you have a chance at melo love or anyone else Morey likes. Yes he's overpaid but so is like half the league nowadays. At least we aren't like a portland who are paying crabbe and Turner something like 145mil combined lmao.
I agree that melo would be an improvement but I still think Anderson on the floor with cp3 and harden will make the spacing amazing
