Going out on a limb there, eh?!?

Not trying to attack... just pointing out "maybe, maybe no" [VERY OLD BBS "meme"] doesn't say a ton, and doesn't follow the original comment of yours, which is my post about analysis is "I give up" according to you. In other words... how about what about I said you disagree with, especially since nothing in it was that reactionary or hyperbolic - it was actually a generally positive post, but just pointing out some short-comings and difficulties given the stage of the season we're in.

the rockets can be very dangerous if the james and russ we saw last night can start doing this on a more consistent basis. these two players alone can keep us in any game. Ive said all year im not worried about those two because I knew they would figure it out. its going to come down to the others. can we get some sort of consistency outside ? they don't even have hit at some insane percentage. we won last night shooting 29%. if we can get to just 37% that would make us incredibly difficult to beat.

out of all the duos, we just may have the best in the league now.

Well, Im more of a homer, I always feel like we have a chance to win. In these past years in the Dantoni/Harden/ Morey era, I dont think I ever felt a time where we simply outmatched, even in the playoffs. So if y, Im gonna say of course I believe we would win the championship. I donno, we are only 4 games back of third seed,(three games back if Lakers take care of business tonight)I think we very well could go on a run, like we did last year. 2-3 seed are not out of the question. I think your last two paragraphs suggest we dont get it done, which with 28 games left to go is premature. I would give it another month before saying we are stuck in the 4th-5th seed.

I hear ya... I just tend to rely on math and statistics more. I’m long past the days of saying we’re only x games back. Why? Math. Sure we’re 4 games back of Denver and that seems catchable. Alternatively if Denver goes a comparatively bad 16-12 to finish the season, they still finish 54-28, which means the Rockets have to go 20-8 to tie that. Some of the other teams would leapfrog Denver in that case no doubt but let’s ignore other teams. 20-8 is a 71% winning percentage... the equivalent of a 59 win year. The Rockets of course are meaningfully below that so far this year.

mind you then... I wasn’t saying so much it’s not possible but rather specifically said they have to go 20-8 at a minimum but really need to go more like 22-5 or 24-4 to finish they year. In that best case scenario, 24-4 puts them at 58-24... so I think you’d at least agree that there’s no way they’re catching the 1 seed, lol.

24-4 seems pretty tough for this crew, 22-6 still seems like a stretch. That’s also why I posted the schedule.

then it’s a question can they win a ring as a 4+ seed?? Again.... possible... but statistically VERY VERY unlikely. It’s not a Rockets thing, it’s a likelihood thing. It just basically almost never happens.

so the whole point of my post wasn’t “I give up”... in fact I’m actually pretty encouraged by what I’ve seen post trade. But it was that if this year is to be more than just a can it possibly work experiment and instead can it work right now and win a ring year, DM needs a savvy buyout move, EG needs to get healthy, and they need to start kicking ass and taking names to be 100% rolling when playoffs comes around.

no more Suns losses or last second dagger losses or massive 4th quarter defensive lapses. Can’t afford it anymore at this point.

Glad to see Antoine Walker get a J.O.B. and finally got rid of his hoop dreams. Dood made so much money in the association and is broke now.

You're still referring to Westbrook like that? Welcome to the ignore list, douche.

Hes leaning towards "maybe yes" - a few of us are as well.

It costs nothing to be positive.

Antoine walker in red would look like the kool aide man. Did he live in a buffet after retirement or something? Guy looks like he ate and swallowed his entire Celtics team.
