    He. Wants. New. York.

The Nugs had a perfectly suitable trade that addressed all the areas they wanted to address with the Nets deal....Melo wont sign anywhere but NY.

He will be a Nugget this year and our pick swap will be a positive one next draft.....then he will sign for NY as a FA.

Good for Morey if they wanted way too much for a guy that I personally don't think was as enthusiastic about Houston as his Camp leaks may have led us to believe. I fully suspect we'd see him hem and haw just as much as he did once the NJN deal became real.

He wants to go to the Knicks, and that's it. I even question his real intentions towards Chicago.

I like what he produces on the court, he'd instantly make us for real, but not worth it if it would cost us Martin and more and he turned out to only be a rental.

we only have one knicks' pick and one of ours, with the option to swap...so two picks. You're not going to get iggy with two first rounders and filler.

BTW.....Mannix is REALLY going out on a limb.....

Gee, Chris, so if this drags on, we, along with everyone else may get dragged back in? Wow....that was AWFULLY insightful. Thanks for nothing

If that is the case, he is basically losing two years of his career. The Nugs are going to fall off this year with his story looming over them. Then the CBA expires and there is a lockout next season. By the time he gets to NY with Paul in 2012, he'll be 28 and then he'll be knocking heads with a Heat team that has already been together for awhile. Not to mention, Amare will be 30 and no telling what sort of injuries he will have on his list by then. Not a wise move, if that is indeed what Melo is planning. Lebron already told Paul to stay in the West so they could form a rivalry and meet in the Finals.

We could get someone real good though. It doesnt have to be Iggy. Underselling value of two first round draft picks and a swap. Then adding someone who is good would net us a pretty decent player upgrade at one position. it just wont net us Carmelo Anthony or Iggodoula who by the way is also way overrated on these boards in terms of trade value. Both by us and the Sixers.

Good. I'm glad we are out. The price was getting way too high to even be worth considering.

yep....but thats the decision he is seemingly making...not a great move for a guy who wants a ring imo

and bc no one on the Heat can guard him ;)

Think Ariza with a bit more dribbling skills and driving ability and you have Igoudala. Way overrated. Too much value in trades they place on this guy. He wouldnt be a starter over Martin, Brooks, or Yao on this team if they all played the same position in terms of how good they are.

Um, this may be news to you, but that's a really good player, and certainly an upgrade over Battier at the 3.

Iggy also has a lot more passing and playmaking ability than Ariza, by the way.

Disagree. Mannix is solid, did a great job covering free agency and deadline last year.

Hehe... basically he said "Houston is out of the Melo sweepstakes, unless they later get back in the Melo sweepstakes."

Well you may see it that way but DEN obviously does not. From what I've heard, there has not been anything serious between the two team. Not even a report about DEN inquiring about our players that interest them and Morey turning them down. They don't want another PG, Martin does not interest them enough and Budinger/Hill and a lottery pick is not going to net you Melo. Plus, NJ has a better chance at the early lottery pick than the NY draft pick. People keep saying how we have the best assets out of any team to trade with, yet we still have not seen that big trade.

Denver is asking for way to much that's why nobody has bitten yet. They wanted favors + expirings + more draft picks and nobody is going to deal that. Looks like Melo is going to stay a nugget until Denver panics and will try to unload him at the deadline for beer and peanuts.
