not any leader, Chuck Hayes was a leader but with little talent and hard work... They need a talented leader, so the bar is higher than with just a role player
The Rockets need Alexander fully behind Morey and Thibs as their head coach. You want a leader? Thibs is a leader.
There are teams that only have 1 or 2 stars that are way ahead and better than us. Having another star along with our current ones isn't the solution. It may even be a problem with the egos we currently have.
We need a more committed group of guys, players who care more about wins and losses than partying or being famous. DD
we need a tough no nonsense ,passionate, all out hustle and ccommitted guy like Noah to out these pansy divas like Harden in their place
Morey prefers, as does every other GM, to sign stars outright, though free agency, than to give up a bundle of assets. There will be trades, before the deadline, but I don't think any of them will be sending multiple role players out for a returning star. The Rockets suffered from lack of depth during the T-Mac Yao era, and I don't think they want to go through that again.
I agree. We are not that far away. May not even need to be a superstar. We need a 3rd center that can rebound and protect the rim and a rotation perimeter player that can defend and be a playmaker (Jimmy Butler type).
I thought we do have a 3rd Super star - Morey. He looks really sharp and crafty on his twitter posts. He has a bigger fan-base than Harden or Howard. We should be fine.
Rockets have one "star". Dwight Howard is no longer a star and certainly not worth $20M(+). Back to searching for Batman or co-Robin. Please, no! No more overpaid/overpriced centers. Hothead DeMarcus Cousins? Soon-to-be 32-year old Carmelo Anthony? Due $24M, $26M and nearly $28M(ETO). Trade one overpriced/declining player for another? You have two more years with Harden before either side can decide to go their separate way.
Who is consistently good other than our two stars? Nobody. So yeah, if all the players became consistently better, but what are the odds of that.
What do you consider a star? Would you consider 1+1= Star? Midseason, stars don't always align. Our stars are still working on that.
