"I think that it is a really great thing for them to allow me to do this and a lot of people are giving me, getting a bus, 'who does he think he is' kind of deal, but if you really think about it, it's not any more convenient for me to take a bus. So taking an eight-hour hike instead of a two-hour flight isn't like a special privilege. It's more so a measure that I'm willing to go to be successful and be healthy and they felt the same way."

    Very well said, Mr. White.

I think that White being so open about his illness is such a great benefit to everyone involved, but mostly because he is able to articulate and express himself so well. I think if he weren't so well-spoken that he would have been drafted late first because it WOULD be perceived as him just being a headcase.

For a rookie with anxiety issues he certainly talks to the media a lot.

    Sooooooo,

How's this going to work when we get to the Finals?
Guess we gotta hope the Hawks make it?

Seriously though, why wasn't this addressed weeks ago instead of the start of training camp? Who dropped the ball here?

The issues to me aren't so much the games but the practice and film studies. I also think one thing that might be overlooked is the comradery and chemistry between teammates. I don't know if it will have an effect to have one player showing up at odd times and also coaching staff having no idea when White will be available. I guess this might be more of a headache than the actual value of the player. I don't want to sound pessimistic but I could definitely see problems arising.

I'm sorry but why wasn't this handled outside of the media, seems like White has the Rockets already in the corner..

They can get around those issues with video conferencing.

I suspect that this won't last very long. He will HAVE to fly to the majority of the games, and the more he flies, *hopefully* he will be able to become more at ease with it, when combined with his medication and ongoing therapy.

I would be very surprised if this lasts more than a year at most.

Only gripe I had was why the holdout, why couldn't he join the team and discuss it there? But it's over with, pending league approval (where have we heard that one) and I'm ready for some ball.

The most important question is this:

What kind a bus will Royce buy? I totally want a Rockets.com video of bus shopping with Royce White.

Lol. Just happy that this is over with. Hopefully the league approves and RW can go to camp and play with the team and fans can move on and stop writing **** about royce on ESPN and twitter.

I think the Rockets plan to send him to the D League, hence the "don't really care".

If Chandler gets on the bus, can we refer to it as the "Bang Bus"?
