why is this thread even becoming about jsmith? Monroe would be a good get, if the contract is short enough. I would be happy with him getting $10M a year because, so long as he doesn't get hurt or play below his abilities, he would still be a moveable piece. The only issue with the moveable piece strategy is that it's dependent upon Dwight staying healthy and as athletic as he is now, and I'm just not all that happy about betting on that proposition
Greg Monroe sucks. Can't play defense and his advance metrics says he's getting worse every year. He is going to be overpaid, and he has no playoff experience.
Poor fit for our team considering the money he'll command. He's a starting center and we don't need a starting center. but maybe we can flip him in a 3-way and get someone else.
Absolutely. Still have no clue why the pistons wanted him to play sf. Wouldn't want him or his contract, but he wouldn't be terrible at pf.
I wanted him earlier, but I changed my mind. He can't help us defensively. We don't have anything significant to offer Atlanta either.
I apologize if I seem insensitive, but with this PG injury I'd rather make a move for West http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kmufgnc
What would you trade to get him? I don't think we can make the salaries work. Also he has a player option which is Morey's Kryptonite.
Also before anyone suggests it, AGAIN, we can't reacquire Luis Scola until his current contract is up.
Well, I made the salaries work and DMo would be a nice asset for them to develop in a tank year. Also, I wouldn't put it past West to opt out after one year to sign a longer deal (either with us or someone else).
