I proposed Martin/Scola to NO for Lewis's partially guaranteed contract yesterday (IF we couldn't make a trade for a star player).

Clears cap and opens up playing time for the youngsters.

I agree... He hustles every play. He would have been ideal to play along with Yao Ming, jut unfortunate that Yao Ming got hurt.

but the pieces were in place for a championship run..

McGrady, Scola, Yao Ming, Brooks, Battier.... Oh if they'd only have stayed healthy!!!! :(

favorite player, personality-wise, on the team, but we are rebuilding, and have 3-4 very talented young PFs. His contract is probably not as bad as it looks, but there's really not a place for him in Houston's future. Hopefully he can land in a great situation.

Personally, i'm very excited about D-Mo and T. Jones as developmental PF prospects, with White being an excellent utility player at the 4 and 3 positions.

What kind of value does Scola even have to other teams?

What are we gonna do with Lowry/Martin? What about Gogi/C-Lee?

Maybe to Minnesota for Webster and Brad Miller's mostly unguaranteed deals, who we would then cut. Deal would have to go down today, presumably.

One of my favorite All Time Rockets. He comes to work every game. And hoops. Nuff said.

Why would the Hornets do that? They have Eric Gordon(if they re-sign him) and Austin Rivers at shooting guard. They just drafted Anthony Davis who is a PF. No way in hell NO does that trade.

Miller retired. Can you trade a retired players salary?

clearly what is happening is when deron williams chooses nets and nash chooses raptors like the media is reporting as the highest probabilities, which would also mean that howard will plan to go to brooklyn next season, dallas is going to offer Dragic $10-$12 million/ year to play for them, so the Rockets need to clear Scola's salary since he is more valuable to teams than Martin apparently, to have enough cap space to retain Dragic. the timing is too coincidental for me not to believe this.

Ha ha, after seeing all these insane trade packages, I'm going to laugh if Scola, Lowry & Martin are just salary dumps.

    Rebuild time.

Scola deserves to go to a contender, he is still a very effective role player - one of my all time favorite Rockets.

But, we need to go young, and he should be traded while he can still play at a high level.

He is a rare guy, who is just as good as the GO TO guy as he is as a role player, every team could use him, but contending teams would REALLY use him.

San Antonio has been pining for him back - or a young team like OKC could use him, or the Mavs and their veteran oriented team, or the Heat...etc..etc..etc....lots of teams could use his elite skillset.

    Good luck Luis !

FU FU FU FU!!!!!!!!!! The only rocket to hustle every play and give his heart to the team every game, he will be missed ALOT more than lowry and martin. That automatic jumper is gonna make teams look for him.
