Might have held on to him a little too long. Scola's stock was it's highest two seasons ago.

2 seasons ago he was a free agent. We signed him to this contract that is now horrendous.

Not surprising that anyone on the roster gets shopped, especially a PF.

Any guesses on where he might go? I am thinking Boston. Just seem a good fit. Scola has the kind of warrior mentality and inside-outside game that should be perfect next to Pierce and KG. They don't have any significant front-court players coming back other than KG. They still have cap room to take Scola's salary without giving much back. However, they might pursue a bigger $ guy Restricted FA before settling on a trade.

We are not going to get much for him at this point >,>. Package him with Kevin Martin to get better deal?

This. Rockets obviously weren't looking ahead.

No surprise obviously. Going to be interesting to see what we can get for Luis.

Probably a realistic destination. Spurs don't have much too offer, but I don't think we'll be able to get a whole lot for Scola anyway.

Maybe some type of deal for a small salary filler, a future pick and to rights to some of the Euros the Spurs picked (Lorbek, DeColo, Bertans, Hanga).

What's the value of a 32 yr old PF who is an average defender, who started to decline and whose contract is not desirable? Unless he is part of a big deal I think we're throwing Hail Marys. I hope there's nothing to worry about.

Hope we can make this happen. Future protected first and cap relief is all I expect.

Some team is going to get a great player.

How about Scola in a sign and trade for Asik? Then the Bulls can amnesty Boozer and save tons of $$$.

I'm pretty sure bringing Howard to Houston has zero contingency on moving Luis and his bad contract for a rebuilding team.

My prediction is Spurs, Timberwolves or a dark horse of the Celtics to back up KG.

I really like Scola but he should play for a contender, not a lottery-bound team like the Rockets. Plus, this would usher in the rebuilding movement the Rockets desperately need.
