The only memory I have of Ryan Kelly is getting crossed super hard by Harden's euro step when Kelly was on the lakers. It was one of the dirtiest euro steps of hardens career, though Kelly didn't look like a good defender so I'm probably just exaggerating the memory. R Kelly. A couple of things. They are still trying to put together a trade by acquiring these non guaranteed contracts for matching salary. Although at lower than the cap amount cash, the money they spent is not insignificant. I am thinking a trade for Melo with Ryno+ these contracts. This will give Knicks about 7M cap space.
Two days left. What are people's predictions about what will happen to Kelly and/or whom he might be involved in a trade for?
I think he will be cut, or he might be involved in a small trade. I have no idea, who will he and the other NG's players be traded for.
I am guessing he will be waived. From what Morey said on simmons' podcast is that he is going to save some of the flexibility for when someone gets bought out or buyers remorse on summer signings/trades. Of course if something presents itself (ie: melo trade) then of course, but I dont believe it will happen that quickly. If there is a Melo trade I believe it will happen after summer league when guys like Qi and Hartenstein can show out (hopefully) to entice the Knicks on banking on those prospects. If that happens though a Melo trade would be in late August though (similar to how Donte Greene/Jeremy Lamb was traded after SL but before camp)
