I came here just to see if tinman thinks only 99'ers are considered rocket fans. He doesn't, but the fan level to him probably drops significantly after year 99.

Man, I'm a young blood so I didn't really get into the Rockets until the Francis and Mobley era and unfortunately never had a chance to watch Hakeem dominate live in his prime. So this was probably my favorite and proudest moment as a Rockets fan when we took LA to 7. I've never been more content with losing, asking poor Chuck Hayes to take on Gasol and Bynum was just too much and he held his own too. Even without T-Mac and Yao, we would have still gotten past the Lakers if even a 40 year old back up center was able to play. That's how amazing that our team was playing that year.
you don't need to be a 99er to know that Yao won a playoff series. you just need to be a real Rockets fan.

I luv everything u said except that our beloved & undrafted Chuck Wagon is far from poor considering that he has a multi-million $ contract. As a matter of fact, I bet he felt priceless when he limited Pau & Bynum (7' All-Stars) numerous times...

Lol we would of made to at least WCF that year (without TMac), Lakers had no answer for Yao. They got lucky he got hurt in game 3, if I remember correctly
yes rockets played well when yao was still on court, denver and orlando were inferior to.lakers, yao killed dwight, eockets had good chance given yao thats it, suns probably won chip without stoudemire suspension, kings without referees, spurs without fisher.shot , or ray allen shot, everru team has some what ifs
