This should take the spot of a min cap hold spot should it not?

Or "will" means sometime in the middle of July after the FA signings. Or we plan for a bigger salary dump than just TRob.

This guys seems pretty talented actually, Looks like he can play both 3/4 with a 6'9 210 frame, nice 7'2 wingspan and from the highlight tape and college stats he seems to be a good athlete, rebounder and shooter who has a decent ability of finishing around the rim. On defense i'm not really sure, but he did average over a block and steal in college.

Seemed to show nice improvement over his first 3 season and in the 4th it looks like he had a injury or maybe a suspension missing a chunk of games that i'm guessing interfered with his play as he shot a much worse FG% then his two previous seasons. Solid pick up by DM.

Rockets did very well with Delfino and Morris at the 4 last season. I don't see him as starter material, but I don't know if his lack of size will be as big an issue if Rockets have Howard and Asik manning the 5.

Yay, I was the only one in draft threads that comed along and prayd Covington to be part of Houston Rockets. Good to know this man now is. Good back-up for Parsons- he can defend, good energy and 3pt range!

How many of our power forwards are we getting rid of???

That's an interesting idea. Can you reduce the cap hit of open slots this way?

    From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com#ixzz2XWUWuo8J

Morey is loading up our roster with long range shooters to surround Harden/Howard with. We saw in these playoffs with paint packing defenses, if you can't shoot you can't be on the floor (why Battier was benched for stretches). And you need shooting depth because shooters can suddenly go cold.

In NBA Jam it was always good to have a team of versatile PF's, usually undersized, who could shoot, dribble and block well.

Morey was unhappy for the fact we didn't get a PF during the draft, he has to sign one...

    He's 6'7? SF?

Guy comes off humble, we'll see if he can do something in the next few years.

Not really as cap hold is the minimum. Him signing for the minimum just means Rockets replace a cap hold with a body. Contracts like his are good counter weights to max deals though. By my calculations Rockets would be about 3 million under cap if they trade Lin for future picks and sign Howard. 2 max contracts under salary cap with a ton of young guys would be very nice.

Nice find, Commodore. Another player who can stretch the floor. We score around the rim and from behind the arc, so the guy fits to a T if he turns out to be good. Don't know about his defense, but he can rebound, get some steals, block some shots, doesn't turn the ball over. If he develops, might help reduce Chandler's minutes, eventually, which would be a plus. I see him as a three, but don't know if he has the handle for it. Anyone know?
