Road to Rocketsville: Excellent second round matchups

    Like I said before, Mo Malone probably wouldn't have beaten Jim Peterson if I hadn't posted it here, so I expect my thank you card very soon :)

    Anyways, here are the highlights of the second round:

    Maurice Taylor vs. Charles Barkley: Defense? We don't need no STEEEEENKING defense!! Two offensive minded PFs go head to head, though Barkley will kill Taylor on the boards. Barkley still has a lot of fans in Houston, and should squeak by Taylor

    Cuttino Mobley vs. Rick Barry: Faster vs. Fastest, although it's hard to tell which is which. Mobley is as explosive a player as there is today, but Barry was the model of consistency. Barry's FT excellency won't help him against Cat's first step. Cuttino by a nose

    Otis Thorpe vs. Matt Bullard: The battle of the fan favorites. Classic inside vs. outside matchup. Look for Bullard to rain threes as Thorpe tries to grab rebounds that won't be there. I'll go with Bullard.

    Robert Horry vs. Clyde Drexler: We all know what Drexler's done, but Horry has always had the uncanny ability to come through in the clutch. The Glide DOES have his number hanging from the rafters, though, so that should count for something, right? I'll pick the Glide to prevail.

    Mario Elie vs. Steve Francis: My favorite matchup so far. Mario Elie as always known for his tenacious "D", but can he stop the high flying, high scoring Franchise? Francis has the youth vote, so I expect him to squeak by Elie by only a few votes

    John Lucas over Joe Barely Cares
    Moses Malone over Eddie Johnson
    Sam Cassell over Robert Reid
    Elvin Hayes over Vernon Maxwell

    This is tough because, if you go just by whole career, Barry wins in a landslide.
