Not a movie but his appearance on Law and Order:SVU is one of my favorite episodes and favorite bad guys from the show.
No offense to you, but I would say you're in the vast, vast minority. He was without a doubt one of the funniest people I've ever seen- ever. His improv work alone on talk shows, awards shows, etc. should get him into some type of Hall of Fame. And if you've seen Good Will Hunting and Awakenings, not to mention several others, you'd know darn well that "often" overacted is incorrect- but again, IYO.
Sure, it's just my opinion. And like I said, When he hit, he did it in a way that nobody else could come close to matching. But his guts to try no matter what always made me admire him. It was just that being loud and fast didn't mean it was it was actually funny. He was a home run hitter who struck out a lot, but also hit a ton of home runs and won a lot of games with his batting. I'm fine to disagree. He was genius and an artist. But like most artists he had his share of misses. To me the great thing about Robin Williams was that hit or miss, I always just admired him.
His performance as the teacher in dead poets society, good will hunting and the lieutenant in forest Gump were extremely memorable. More importantly he was a good human being and a god fearing celebrity who didn't willfully ignore the struggle around him. Suicide is not a selfish act, and it is redeemable in heaven. Through eternal salvation we shall rest, our good deeds put to the test, father allow us to rise, and meet you at the gates.
The worst part about this is thinking about how depressed he must've been. Thanks for the memories Robin, you were truly a beautiful bright light for many. Rest easy.
Wow. My mistake. It wwas such a Robin performance to me. There are some great comedic talents who can play drama roles as good as anyone.. and Robin was the head of the pack. Jim carrey is another that comes to mind.
This dude predicted this 3 days ago in the link. Weird stuff. http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/a...-that-robin-williams-will-die-soon.454158743/
