She is best known for her role in the movie "Can't Buy Me Love" starring along with Patrick Dempsey. Anyone who was a teen around that time probably knows this movie well along with others from that era like "The Breakfast Club" and "Sixteen Candles". She also appears earlier in "Annie" and had roles in "Doogie Howser, M.D." and I think "Silver Spoons". She was quite young when that movie that was her claim to fame was made at around 15 years old and died at 43. She quit acting in 1994. Her birthday would have been tomorrow. She died last Friday and was found Sunday. It was said she had sleep apnea and some underlying medical conditions with her heart. But, it is not known how she died yet. She leaves behind a husband and two kids. No telling the number of people she leaves behind who crushed on her back in the day. So long, Cindy Mancini.
one of the first teen movies I watched, that was a damn good 80's movie.... the Nick Cannon/Christina Milian remake is dead to me....
Saw the thread title and immediately knew exactly who this was. She was stunningly beautiful in Can't Buy Me Love, which is a CLASSIC 80's movie that I've seen hundreds of times. "YOU **** ON MY HOUSE!!!!!.......you **** on my house..." Very emotional scene...
the first white girl I ever had a crush on. =( i will write a poem for her to tribute her "black moon" poem.
i remember "can't buy me love" as the ride on lawnmower movie. i thought this one had the lead guy ending up with the tom boy best friend who wore a short blonde hair style but it wasn't. anyone know what movie that one was?
The movie you are referencing is warmly and simply titled, "My Life." Michael Keaton captures the character with his Everyman traits as the lead actor in this film.
I thought she was already dead and then realized I was getting her confused with one of the Heathers from Heathers.
My wife watches Gray's Anatomy and Ronald is on it. He's actually a sex symbol now, which is hard to believe. I'll always see him as nerdy Ronald buying a telescope and practicing the African Anteater Ritual.
Rules... Sucks to read. I've seen the movie at least over 100 times. 80's classic but still so cheesy.
Just watched "Can't Buy Me Love". Now I totally get the slow clap parody in "Not Another Teen Movie".
