RJ is scary for them, because you add a borderline all-star who is athletic and very good scorer (still fairly young) with a team that still has Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Greg Popovich.

If they pick up adequate big man someone (in case they don't resign Obracio). The Spurs are going to be scary next year.

RJ is scary because he's made noise as a 2nd best scorer.. and as a best player on a team. Now you let him be the 3rd or 4th option on a team...he can absolutely flourish.

Plus, he'll be able to get rest and be even more productive during his time on the court

Because RJ actually played 30+ minutes a game and player X didn't played much unless the starters got hurt.

I was initially worried, but after thinking about...I'm not that worried. Jefferson has a history of injuries if I'm not mistaken. The Western conference, and even more specifically the SW division, is stacked with teams that are extremely physical. Jefferson will be exposed to a physicality night in and night out that he has never experienced. I predict that he'll play decent in the beginning of the season while trying to figure out the SA offense. But, he will eventually get hurt and be out the majority of the remainder of the season with the hope of returning before the playoffs. So I'm not too worried. Worst case scenario....he becomes an upgrade to Finley spot up 3pt shooting with an occasional drive to the basket mixed in. We'll be fine...you just have to trust in the Wizard.

A garbage starting center, and a has been. Bowen averaged less than 20min per game, and the Spurs wouldn't miss him if he didn't come back.
