What's the Mavs cap situation going forward? Are they still able to be players in free agency next year (and the vaunted 2016 off-season) after the Parsons contract?
Contrary to the views of many on clutchfans, the Parsons contract WILL NOT put the mavs in cap hell for the next if any. The Mavs only have Dirk, Parsons & Gal Mekel signed for 2015-2016 totalling less than 31 million total, which would leave them 36 million under the projected 66 million 2015-2016 cap. Monte Ellis has a player option for just under 9 million for 2015-2016 which he will almost certainly decline. Unfortunately for the Mavs and other teams looking for a big name player next year, the chances to land either Love & Aldrige & MGasol seem remote, leaving Rondo, AJefferson, Milsap etc as the other main options.
