2 years ago Aldridge was overpaid.

The BEAST season he had this year make him almost underpaid. His game has evolved and he plays like a MAN in the post. He rebounds like a MAN and defends a lot better now. He's turned into a Top PF in this league, better than Pau Gasol.

Two years ago, Aldridge was averaging 18/8 and getting paid <$6mil, while on his rookie contract.

Lol, my thought exactly... He's getting paid for his production, the Rockets would have this guy in a hartbeat..

You have to be kidding me right? So many things on that list are unjustafiable. You do know that paul millsap's career averages are 11/6 whereas rondo is a 2x all star and nba champion? BTW bargs is a 7ft SG, no defence no back to basket game and no rebounds. He is like Kevin martin, just half as good on offence.

imo top 6 based on production and team success

    1.aldridge 2.rondo 3.Gay 4. Lowry 5. Millsap 6. 5years of Brandon Roy

    Overpaid

This is what happens when I post quickly.

Rondo is the best player from that draft. I like Lowry more than Scola, but it's a tough to choose between LA and Rondo if I could put one on the Rockets. LA at center would be nice though.

This is what he is making in the next 4 years.

    $11,800,000
    $13,000,000
    $14,100,000
    $15,200,000

I'm not talking Amare Staudamire overpaid. He's just overpaid.

Saying Yao and McGrady were overpaid is an understatement.

    Rashard Lewis makes twice that.

There are probably more worse players making $12M/yr than there are better.

You really think Milsap and Andrea would go ahead of Rondo? I think every team would take Rondo ahead of those two, and that most would take him ahead of Gay and Aldridge too -- I know I would.

    Overpaid how?

How many players average 22/9/2/1/1 on 50% FG shooting on his salary?

The numbers he is putting up now is max contract worthy, and note that he is putting up these numbers on a winning team, a playoff team.

.... that plays the slowest pace in the NBA.

And it's not just the numbers. It's the fact that he is a willing passer, can score in and out of the post, and plays good defense. And he's embraced the idea of being the #1 guy.

    Definitely not overpaid.

At that kind of salary I expect him to perform for all 4 quarters.

In the first 3 quarters of the playoffs this year he averaged 5.5 points per game. However, in the 4th quarter he averaged 3.8 ppg. He averaged 3 points in the paint for the first 3 quarters, but only 0.8 in the 4th. His FG% also drops from 47.3% to 43.8% in the 4th. Keep in mind he should be shooting at least 50% as a PF getting paid that much like he did during the regular season. Going 6-16 and 6-15 from the field isn't going to cut it. He's a 6-11 power forward who weighs 245 pounds, yet he's only grabbing 7 rebounds per game in the playoffs. I don't want to hear about fatigue. The best thrive in the fourth because they've made the man guarding him exhausted.

Rather than step up and score when when his team needed him the most, he disappeared in the fourth.

Rondo is averaging Jason Kidd like numbers in the playoffs.

Someone mentioner Rashard Lewis in this thread. Please leave.

Can't believe he's still trying to defend the Aldridge analysis...

Andrea over Rondo? Please. Gay needs to be above Milsap too.

Furthermore, shouldn't this be in the NBA thread, not GARM?
