Never thought of myself as conservative until watching this video, damn, he's got a death grip on this small rotation. Free Johnson and Wright, conserve those star minutes until mid-April!
is a 10 man rotation really that hard to implement? a starter around 30 mins and a backup around 20 mins for every position?
It's not, it really comes down to trust. MDA doesn't really trust his second unit to win games, but to simply keep us in them. We're far too talented for that IMO.
or he doesn't trust his or his own coaching staffs skills and abilities to coach a good enough second unit to keep leads and win.. or too lazy to coach.. assuming we keep this starting 5 are ego, jj, green, ariza, ryno, wright, nene/black good enough to keep a lead safe from a sub 500 lottery-bound team?
can have both can MDA coach ego, jj, green, ariza, ryno, wright, nene/black good enough to keep a lead safe from a sub 500 lottery-bound team? or coach harden, luc, tuck, cap ego, jj, green, ariza, ryno, wright, nene/black to win against a sub 500 lottery-bound team? or coach cp3, luc, tuck, cap, ego, jj, green, ariza, ryno, wright, nene/black to win against a sub 500 lottery-bound team?
Without Harden or Paul on the floor the Rockets are one of the worst teams in the NBA. A team with Eric Gordon as their primary ball handler and scorer would win 20 games if they were lucky. We can only sit both of them when we are waxing opponents in the 4th. Frankly if both are playing, there's no need to sit them both at any point if the game is in doubt. Having said that we should be able to limit them to 30 minutes or so in most games. We could also periodically sit CP3 on occasion. Missing a few games outright will help with fatigue much more. No need risking a loss once they have already expended 25-30 minutes of energy.
Not always. It would decrease our chance to win. If our guys our healthy and we are in a race to the 1 seed then most will be active. Nothings guaranteed, GSW lost to the kings with 2 all stars still playing when steph and KD were out. That might end up biting them. All things considered, we have been pretty good at resting guys this year. We’ve been very cautious with cp3 and nene. We’ve been cautious with gordon and we arent rushing ariza back. Harden is playing less mpg then he has in a long time. Don’t get too obsessed with rest. Playing less basketball doesnt automatically equal championship.
the roster is as close we can get to gsw just hoping coaching can be closer interms of depth utilization, injury readiness, and rest strategy
