I would rather have a SG who thinks he is a PG than a PG who thinks he is a SG and that he has to shoot 20-25x per game while being on the same team with the greatest offensive threat in the past 20 yrs. Lol
Why would Boston want Reggie Jackson or Steven Adams for that matter? Boston needs a good young wing, not more young guards. They seem to have a crowded backcourt and frontcourt as it is.
Let's not kid ourselves. Rondo/Westbrook/Durant/Ibaka would be amazing and improve OKC's odds of winning. The problem is re-signing Rondo, who will likely command near-max if not max outright next year.
Westbrook has never averaged 20 shots a game, let alone 25, at any point in his career. He has taken fewer shots each of the past two years. And he does so on a team that has zero offensive threats outside of Durant. Unless you think Durant should be taking 80+ shots per game, there are plenty of shots to go around on that team, and very few players that should be taking them.
This. It is the same bull**** media driven narratives over and over again. First it was Harden's defensive issues while his impact on the court is huge (which they seem to ignore and vastly underrate his impact on games). Westbrook is a god damn beast and people hate on him for "taking shots from Durant." The media picks a narrative and regardless of the truth of it, the masses flock to that opinion likes bees to honey....
His FGA are 17-19 per game + (approx 3 shots equivalent to his 6-7 free throws per game) = TAKES 20-25 shots per game. Don't be so butthurt. No one is denying that he is not a great player. Probably top 5-10 and is slightly better than Harden. The biggest issue with him is that as a PG, your job is to facilitate the offense and orchestrate the best shot available. At end of games, he has a tendency to jack up ill advised shots, which percentage wise for him is OK... Except that he plays with Durant. Can you imagine CP3 doing the same? Which brings us back to the original question of can Westbrook and Rondo coexist? That depends on if Westbrook is willing to not pout.
So hold up, OKC trade away Harden for scraps due to money, but will trade to bring in Rondo...either OKC have had a change in philosophy or this is b.s.
