Before this year you could say Asik never misses a game and he's younger than Varejao. However you could argue that Asik played more minutes last season than the two previous years in his career and has shown this year that he is a slow healer and might not be durable under heavy minutes.

Varejao rebounds just as well as Asik, passes better than Asik, has a little better offensive game than Asik and is more mobile than Asik. They're both not big shot blockers.

Just like we were better defensively when Asik was on the floor last season, Cleveland has been better defensively with Varejao on the floor even back when LeBron was still a Cav. The only time they were better without him was last year when he only played 25 games.

Only thing Asik does better is run pnr.

Cav's starting center is Tyler Zeller...no way he will cut it. They need a good Center and the Rockets have one available.

    Asik, D-Mo, Canaan, 2nd Rounder

    for

    Waiters, Vareajao

I think Waiters can be the likes of Jamal Crawford...he can come off the bench and score in bunches!

I wonder if this 'shakeup' will rival the time we got Ben Wallace, Wally World, and Shaq midseason.

No, he doesn't. What Varajao does is solve our need top back up Dwight with a top notch defender and rebounder. And he's a better got alongside Dwight than Jones. He plays well at the high post, hens a good passer, and he IS a pick and roll player. He would make Jones obsolete and allow us to play a true shooter as the third big alongside him and Dwight.
