Regardless whether the contract is guaranteed or not once Iggy signed that contract he has a moral obligation to play for whoever owns his contract.

Sure normal people dont make millions like Iggy but if they signed a contract for employment then just like Iggy they are expected to do their job. It's called being a professional, hence these NBA players are called pros. Why do fans even need to come together to get this fixed? This is supposed to be a basic expectation if you signed the deal then you should play.

Player empowerment is diff from refusing to play but still wanting to get paid.

Remember Royce White? Tried to pull the same **** with the Rox the league was having none of it so that's clearly not player empowerment.

The player is still getting paid so there's no issue in your scenario as he is the one who wants to play and the team is the one who doesnt want him to play.

The diff here is iggy doesnt want to do the work but still wants the money. Some teams are ok getting taken advantage of like that but other teams are not.

The issue is the player could want to play. That’s less stats. Some of those stats could trigger incentives. Etc.

Iggy used his leverage, just like teams do. It looks like both sides came out on top.

when things like this happen, all players see it and will do wtf they want these days

players will look out for themselves. and teams will do the same

Now Iggy claiming it was Grizzlies who came to him with the proposal to sit. Even if that is true, he should've risen above that and said: I think I can contribute and be a positive influence. Just because your boss proposes to sit on your ass and collect a pay check, does not mean you should do it. Let me just say, if anyone had proposed this to Kobe, think about his reaction and then tell me how you feel.

If he had love for them he wouldn't sit out and refuse to play with them.

    STFU douchebag.

If he got hurt then he would be useless to grizz so I can see why both parties wanted him to sit.
