There is no such thing as buying Low with Hibbert when the price is this high-

    2012/13 = $13,668,750

    2013/14= $14,283,844

    2014/15= $14,898,938

    2015/16= $15,514,031(Player Option)

Not the worst contract in the league, but its certainly not

    2012/13= $8,300,000

    2013/14= $8,300,000

    2014/15= $8,300,000

When you are getting a very similar player in the process.

not how the Pacers operate. Wait 5 years, then if he still stucks on his next deal and starts getting unhealthy, he might become available.

Another one-hit wonder. It was Dorrell Wright before him. Dude couldn't miss anything in that one year with the Warriors. Then he flat out sucked.

mentally, Hibbert is the Catwoman. He's a great guy that should be incredibly cool to hang out with, and nobody would ever dislike him, but he's just...fragile. This isn't unusual for Hibbert, he went into these prolonged suckage periods every year. Last year, he worked it out with a sports psychologist and he finished the season strong. This year, I'm not sure how he's coping. But it's clearly a mental issue. He's missing his bread-and-butter 3ft hooks right now.

There are other issues, like the Pacers lacking good playmakers, and Hibbert getting pushed out by short guys with a low center of gravity. But it seems 90% mental.

Also, between Granger and their last year's bench guys, the Pacers have lost a ton of tough guys and energy guys... The new bench is very different.
That's a big problem for a team which ralied around "We are the toughest team on the court" coaching philosophy last year.

WHAT IS UP with all the Hibbert love?!?

The guy is an 11ppg and 6.5 rpg career player. The last 2 'massive' years for him have been 12 and 8. Oh my - max him out.

I think his shooting will improve back to 'normal' levels this season, but for a 7-2 max contract center, I'd expect him to shoot over 50% (which he has never done in his career).

It's not like he's a particularly mobile defender either...

And then you look at Mcgee coming off the bench. Asik is a HUGE steal.

I really don't understand why Hibbert regress so much this year. He was talking about what made him so successful not too long ago on NBA TV. Yea, I remember everyone was talking about him being the next big time center but he's not even close. Maybe its just all smokes and mirrors when he was giving the Heat fits.

Hah McGee would be the best center in the NBA right now if he had a brain.
