Nailed it. He is a young, relatively undersized PF, and somehow he is expected to shut down LMA, who is basically unguardable and gets hot whenever he chooses to. What TJ brings is energy and athleticism, and with that comes lots of variance until he gets enough experience/maturity. The Rockets are nowhere near the favorites to win it all, but if they run hot they're going to be fun to watch down the stretch.

TJones is not in the same sentence as Joey Dorsey in terms of talent and performance. Terrence Jones is for real IMHO. Ask Harden what he thinks ...

Let's hope Josh Smith can be the difference against LMA. If DH12 is back for the playoffs, the Rox will have a legendary defense.

I for one think Jones has the better rebounding fundamentals while Dmo might turn out to be the better defender when all is said and done

A young player has to mature to the level where he can have a performance like this most of the times he plays top teams

Without a doubt TJones is a better rebounder, he is way more agile. TJones is NOT a great straight up defender he is more of a weak side help guy which is why he works well with Howard and DMo. He is like a middle class man's version of Anthony Davis.

He's still very tradeable, wait until draft day.

Just have a hard time deciding between DMo/TJones.

Typical _OF thread. He gets a start against one of the worst teams in the league and goes up against a rookie that was traded and is new to that team. He works that guy and that team for 15/15 putting in garbage put - backs and they think he's gonna be an All-Star. Because there's another 200 other good, young players

Meanwhile, the Blazers, Clippers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Spurs, and Mavs are all licking their chops and crossing their fingers that Dwight stays dinged and McHale is dumb enough to run _ones out there for 30 minutes a night in the playoffs so they can feast on him.

We couldn't trade _ones because he has no trade value right now. Because there's another 200 "good, young" players in the league. He's just another player.

I hate to point this out because I like DMo now, but lets be real here. The people who trash Jones and completely write him off talk about DMo like he is already a star. How did he do exactly against the Blazers, Clippers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Spurs, and Mavs in his matchups this year? Wildly inconsistent that's how. One double double in the bunch, only one double digit rebounding game, and zero games of 20 or more points. DMo is not having star level impact on the court. Some decent games sprinkled with some mediocre to poor ones. He gets a pass though. He is untradeable after all.

For the record, I would have traded either of them for Dragic if he were willing to sign with us. He wasn't so...

I would think he had no trade value because he missed 3 months and didn't look great when he came back. It has nothing to do with him as a player. There are much worse players than Jones that have trade value.

Actually, I like your thinking. Harden IS the team's point guard in all but name, and he can also play strong enough to mix it up with 4s. We need our biggest guys in the lineup to play big teams. I don't know the exact stats of how much Ariza's defense brings to our lineup, but I'd be tempted to put Brewer in the 2, so we have an effective slasher that Harden or Smith can feed. Jones has some scoring ability from different positions, and D-Mo has the post. If D-Mo gets out his slump, he can hook shot over anybody. Smith can play defense, pass, and he seems to do well at second chance points. This may be the most offense-minded lineup we could have and easily the best rebounding lineup. I like it in general, actually.

Well, this week is a good test. He and DMo need to show up when we play vs the likes of LAC, CLE, etc. At least they can play off each other.

I don't know if we can afford to pay both of them in the future. So they have to keep playing tough.
