The Pels broadcast said that Mauer repeatedly said we couldn't inbound into the back-court and we did anyway. Of course they are biased and I didn't hear anything but something to consider.

Wow. Watching that clip recalls cartoons where physics and reality just are completely ignored. What the hell did I just watch?

The line item from the last-two-minutes report for that play should be in 36-pt font, bold, underlined, italicized, drop-shadowed, in Comic Sans, and capped off by "!!!!11!!11!!1!OMGWTFLOLSERIOUSLYWTF"

Yeah, even if you don't believe in refereeing conspiracies, games are officiated wildly differently from game-to-game. It's worse than strike zones in baseball. Now, I think a team should build into their mentality that even the best refs may make a set of bad calls that could cost them up to 6 points or so, which is why it's never good to let things get too close if you're winning. However, I've clearly seen games where bad calls or a certain game-long philosophy of calls has swung the points well over 6 points in favor of the opponents. With some of these free-throw disparities, it gets close to 20 points or so. Games like that and close end-game calls that get screwed up are perfectly fine fodder for b****ing after the game.

I thought the refs were equipped with whistles now that automatically stop the clock when blown? I could swear I remember a commentator mentioning that a while back, though I haven't paid enough attention to verify.

If they're not, they should be. This is 2015. That is easy as hell to implement.

NBA officiating accountability is ALL talk and has been for at least a decade now, unfortunately. [/capslock]
