F*ck!!!!! I'm hooked on this freakin' REDBOX thing. HELP!!!! 1 buck a night to have dinner and a movie with the wife? BRILLIANT! Yes, I am F*ck*n' guilty of re-birthing a thread but... so what? This is an awesome way to ditch your NutFlix, SucksBuster, or HollyWeird Video. Only bad thing is that if you rent older titles, the DVDs are more scratched than the flea-infested ears on my Siamese cat. Not to worry, you call 1800redbox and you get a code for a new one. No questions asked. Free codes for February: FEBRUARY (2/5 through 2/9) ABRAHAM (2/12-2/16) PREZ (2/19-2/23) THe codes expire when you use a credit card and/or email to use each one, so use different credit cards and emails to get more rentals for free, or use your significant others'. In other news, Danni Ashe is going to start competing on her own with HOTBox outside 24-hour newsstands.
Ummm... I must apologize for RE-STARTING an OLD THREAD. I am addicted. 4 nights in a row I've rented. Is there a REDBOX users 12-step program?
Is the Redbox better than those machines they have inside HEB? It seems everytime I go the movies are out of stock at HEB. Thus I have Blockbuster Online. But recently the movies are taking way too long to arrive, thus I'll be quitting soon.
Man, I gave up after three rentals in a row were scratched beyond playability for me. I just think it's so ****ing pathetic that I can buy thirty year old records that are damn near in mint condition, but people are so careless and inconsiderate now that dvds get ruined in a week.
Eh, I'd much rather personally stick w/ Netflix or Blockbuster online... most of the time I will have already watched a wide release movie (that interests me) in the theater. So all the dvds in those machines I have either seen or look like trash. And when i do actually rent a movie, it's a little bit off the beaten path. Plus it usually takes me several days before I get around to watching it anyways.
I agree, sticking to Netlfix. Netflix is the way. An incredible amount of film, and incredible variety. Dvd's are always playable/viewable.. And I hardly ever rent New Releases. Only problem I ever had with it, was a cracked disc.. that was quickly replaced, and that was that. I've had the service for a good while. Netflix > redbox
I use both this and my Blockbuster Online account. I mostly use my BBOnline account for older movies that I cannot get through Redbox as they usually only stock on top 20 movie rentals. The best feature about the service? U can rent and return it to any location. I live on the Eastside of town, work in the North side (Greenspoint), and usually with my gf in the Galleria area. Plus they have promotional codes all the time for free rentals, so not too shabby. The only setback now is the change in return time is 7pm now instead of 10pm, but its better for the stock in movies. EDIT: I just noticed the second paragraph I repeated in a post I did more than 6 months ago in which is almost word for word, freaky....
yeah the mcdonalds route isn't bad. but nothing, NOTHING, tops netflix. give me netflix anyday of the week. i mean i know the selection can't be unlimited from machines in mcdonalds, but it still annoys me each time I go in.
i can bet that it isn't going to be at Redbox btw, all i have heard bout this movie is F*&ED up things
No, it's not, it's at Hollywood and I guess Blockbuster, there's some bad in it, but it can't be any worse than Brokeback Mountain. EDIT: Yeah, now that I think about it some more, there are some very disturbing ideas in the movie, still you know you're right from wrong, don't you?
I like the Red Box. I love the price and I haven't gotten a damaged movie yet. I do go to Hollywood Video for the niche/foreign flicks. They have a pretty good selection for that kind of stuff.
Awesome, I'm going to try some of these. I just discovered these things Sunday and rented a couple of movies (Simpsons and Stardust). How frigging simple could it be? A buck a movie, locations everywhere, and no sales people to deal with. It's the perfect movie rental solution for me. I hate paying $5 a pop at Blockbuster or having to wait for Netflix to send me something when I want to be impulsive and have a 'movie night'. Since there's a McD about 8 blocks from me, it's even faster to go get some movies than it is to download them. The only con is resisting the urge to get a Big Mac. Bleah...
