I think that bodes well for keeping Green , who I think would stay anyway , that dude is living a dream.

I don't think it keeps Wright or Johnson. I believe they are worth at or near MLE money on the open market. That's a lot of money to leave on the table.

IMO
- I see Klay bolting for LA on a max deal.
- Curry's ankles giving out and is owed 40 million for that 2019 season (Age 31/32).
- Green will probably stay after 2020 season, just a hunch.
- Durant (could bolt following 2018 and no one is talking about this.)

So you have Durant and Thompson as FA in 2019. If Rockets upset them this year, I can see scenarios where that team disperses amongst other teams within a few years. Houston would stabilize as the new powerhouse but only if they can keep Harden/Paul together. Lots of what/if's but anything is possible...

GS Owners will probably send dumptrucks of Silicon Valley money to buy over Murray.

People should just not reply to him. I think any plan is going to have to include LMM at the taxpayer MLE. He is just too important a piece of the rotation. After that I think you have to hope that Green is willing to roll with the minimum and maybe Wright and Johnson feel a sense of attachment. Outside of attempting to trade for LBJ I don't see us making many outside moves. We kind of completed our roster before getting the last star so that helps a lot with a deep bench. If we get LBJ and lose EGo or Tucker with Anderson that opens up a lot of playing time for Green/Johnson. It also helps that we have bird rights over all but a couple of players.

Also agree with your assessment with regards to our Vet min guys. LMAM is too important to this team and I would use the MLE on him. And like you said, feel Green would roll with the minimum with his Houston city loyalty. Joe has made a ton of money already and is in his golden years and I could see him sticking under the min. Wright, could be more difficult, but I think he senses this is a good spot for him. He could stick for another year in hopes of raising his stock which might be smart.

They might be worth it on the market, but that doesn't automatically mean they will leave. I think in particular, Joe Johnson might be content on this team. He has made so much money that at this point, playing for a championship caliber team in a role he is comfortable with might really be appealing to him.

Wright, is a different matter. Could be a close call. BUT, he could hang on for another year to raise his stock. A full year on this team catching lobs would really put him in a good position in the open market in 2019.
