I smart team would have cap space for said player and not put it all into a aging player 2/3 of the cap on point guards and we still need another one. WOW something is wrong with the math.

just an idea. how about packaging CP3 to Charlotte for Kemba. MJ and CP3 are close and might not mind staying competitive while getting more opportunities for their young guys monk and bridges.

Side note Batum & Walker = Paul & Melo salary wise.

You have to get to the playoffs before you can worry about the playoffs …. Right now they are back above .500 and still two spots back from the 8 seed and a first round exit.

Only 2.5 games separate #7-#14 in the West. Some good teams are going to be on the outside looking in.

    #6 thru #14 Clippers , Mavs , Grizzlies , Kings , Rockets , Spurs , Pelicans , T-Pups , Jazz …. Only three of those teams make it.

CP3 looks like he’s injures. There’s no way his offense fell so much in 6 months due to loss of ability.

YUP! It's Melo and Gordon that should be gone ASAP. A 3&D player should be best. Ariza should have been perfect. Some people can't just wait.

Not sure if this was accurate at the time, or premonition. In any event CP3 has hurt BOTH hamstrings over the past 8 months, and has now (per Google) had 5 hamstring injuries total (2 on one leg, 3 on the other) over the past few years. Add in missing meniscus for the past 8 years in his left knee since an operation in 2010, and it's hard to see how CP3 won't decline rapidly at age 33+. His mind is willing, but his wheels are breaking down. After averaging only 60 games played the past two seasons due to injuries, he'll be lucky to play 60 games this year as well. Age 34-36 (the next 3 seasons will only be more grim).

which is why his old ass has to be traded as soon as possible or else the team will be significantly constrained, and Harden will have to keep playing 40 minutes a night.

Eh Rockets’ brass will probably force him to retire due to injury and get insurance to pay his salary.

Getting CP3 to begin with was a huge risk. Even aside from the injury history, when he came to the Rockets, the understanding was, he was going to his money. We got a good year out of him, but this year looks like the wheels are coming off. Unfortunately, no team is going to trade for him unless we do something insane like include every pick for the next 5 years. More than likely we are stuck with the guy until his expiring year, in which case he will be a 40+ million dollar expiring contract...

Harden will almost have to request a trade at some point. The short-term and long-term for this team looks bleak. Can't trade those first-round picks, especially now.
