Wrath of the Titans - Slept through about 1/4 of the movie, then when Blockbuster's disc started freezing I was happy I didn't have to watch the rest.

Why would you even watch that? That's like watching transformers 2 & 3 on a loop.

    Django Unchained - 9/10

Basically the black Inglourious Basterds/Machete, except more give-a-**** with production and writing. I really enjoyed it, Leo was great and had me laughing a few times.

    Definitely recommend.

Ps, lots of N-bomb dropping so don't watch if you're uncomfortable with that sort of stuff.

    Zero Dark Thirty - 7.5

Saw this Thursday night at Midnight. Usually the midnight movies are sparsely attended but this theater was packed. I think this movie is going to rake it in.

I was kind of disappointed in the movie frankly. They just tried to fit too long a time period into this movie. They kind of space the movie apart with subsequent terrorist attacks after 9/11. The opening scene I found really powerful and kind of chilling. It's basically a dark screen with audio of people going through 9/11. That was rough to hear. There were a couple jump in your seat moments for me, the sound of one explosion in particular really caught me off guard even though I knew something was going to happen. The final scene when they're after Bin Laden was really satisfying because you know this was a guy that killed so many and he just had this coming for so long. I can't imagine how those Seals felt when they knew it was finally over. Unfortunately they were trying to cover so much that they didn't develop the characters much. In the end you just don't know the characters enough to really care about what they went through. Hopefully someone makes a better more thoughtful film on this subject down the road.

All the Pretty Horses - 4/10 - It started out okay. It's rambling western/love story directed by Billy Bob Thornton. But it keeps on rambling and then just gets weird at some points.

    Jack Reacher

Just a bad ass movie. Good action, kept me on the edge of my seat and surprisingly brutal for PG-13.

    The Evil Dead (1981) - 9.5/10

Watched the new Red Band trailer for the Evil Dead remake (which is completely fantastic looking), and it got me in the mood to re-watch this. Hard to really say anything negative about this film, as it's truly a horror classic. Ranges from funny to completely unnerving, and is seriously impossible for any horror fan not to enjoy.

House at the End of the Street - Lawrence filmed this before she hit it big which should tell you a lot, it's a crapfest across the board outside of the director's insistences on Lawrence bounce whenever she moves.... F

I felt exactly the same way. The film was boring and dragged on for me. The Bond girl was weak, Q was lame, no gadgets, and another poor revenge plot made this the second straight poor Bond film to me.

Casino Royale was fresh, Quantum of Solace was the worst, and Skyfall was in the middle.

What to Expect when You're Expecting 6.5/10

A LOT more funnier than I was expecting which is why I think it's def worth checking it out if it's rental or on Netflix. Great to watch with a wife, fiance, mother-to-be... Maybe not the best to watch with the clingy type.

    Apocalypse Now Redux

Hard to get into sync watching this because I'm so used to the regular version.

But it has to be in the top 5 of all-time films- I mean, from every type of criteria- acting, cinematography, plot- it deserves all the hype it gets.

    The Impossible 7/10

Wife dragged me to this, it was a cry fest. Everyone in the audience was in tears (including myself:grin:) but it was a pretty good movie.

However to be honest, I imagine anyone who was a part of the 2004 Tsunami would be mortified if they saw this. The movie made me seriously feel for the victims and their families.

The Impossible - Really grim but uplifting dramatization of a family's story of survival. Great acting all around especially Watts and the kid actors. Feels a bit more forced, script really tries to hard to pull heart strings, near the end but still very well done - B
