Rap today has been very bad. People say that artists like Big Sean, Drake, & Lil Wayne are the best out. There music has such wack lyrics and doesn't even have good messages. I love rap and I love the rap that actually has good lyrics and have a great message to it. I wish the old rap was back. Well the main reason I made this thread is to share you the rappers that have been overlooked by people for artists like drake and big sean. Last year, 3 really dope rap albums came out. One is called Section 80 by Kendrick Lamar. Second one is called The Greatest Story Never Told by Saigon. Third one is called The Salvation by Skyzoo (the best project last year to me).

Also one other rapper is very dope named Blu, he also had a nice album last year, can't recall the name but I loved his one album named Below The Heavens.

    Please Check Them Out!

Rap today is amazing, what are you talking about?!?! Some of my favorite lyrics have come out recently:
"Rack city b!tch, rack rack city. Rack city b!tch rack city. Show me ya t*tties. Rack rack city."
and the classic by big shawn
"Ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass"

    Yea, thats amazing rap...
I'll make a rap and repeat the word ”Lin” the whole song adding three other words in it.

Rap music is meant to be specific to the time, place and person. This is why it requires so little metaphor, symbolism or instrumental or genre flexibility to still be compelling and marketable.

    I strongly disagree.

Unless you are making the clever distinction between (c)rap and hip hop...

Will post some videos, artists and albums I recommend later today after writing my last exam of the semester. We have to show these people that rap is still a beautiful genre.

All you have to do is turn off your radio. The best rap music is coming out of the Bay Area and has been for the past 2-3 years since the hyphy music faded out and rappers went back to the original Bay Area sound.

Everyone that craves good rap needs to check out Locksmith's Embedded. Here are a key songs from it:

There is still good hip hop out there, you just have to look for it.

Thats true, they make music for themselves and not money.
I really liked J.Cole before the album but he keeps repeating himself after the mixtapes

Well damn , how many different ways do you want a rapper to say "I got money", "I sold drugs", or "I ****ed your gal"???..... Of course they gonna repeat themselves.....
