Yes...Gene, did both radio and TV in the early 80's and although it may have been to save expenses at the time - he was by far the best. Bill was actually the color commentatry man at the time.

What has he done on the air that has made him a poor role model? He is nice to everyone and he always seems to have a good time.

I don't think the fact that he has kids out of wedlock is really any of our business.

Calvin is entertaining and that is what I want...to be entertained.

BTW, Bill Worrel is my favorite. I remember listening to him back in the 80's when we still had Ralph and Akeem. Does anyone remember or know who worked with him back then. Wasn't Hannah Storm working on the Rockets broadcast back then?

    1) Clyde (He's the man)
    2) Cynthia Cooper - knows her stuff and really knowledgeable
    3) Van Chancelor - Explains the game well and a very fluid talker
    4) Bullard - I just like him
    5) Bill Worell - Makes funny comments and always jinxes the other team at the line.

Ahh...yes, how sweet it is (was). Gene will always be the voice of the Rockets...funny, I also regard Gene E as the voice of the Astros. Hear eather voice for the first time after the off season, and you immediatly get your head back in the game.

I'd take the guy that is a poor role model over the dude that sounds like he was a poor dental patient any day.
