Yeah I just edited my post. I'm pretty sure he'll get maxed out, or at least close to it. If Washington is willing to max him out there is no point in considering. Personally I think he is a perfect fit for this team.
Otto is basically a better version of Dekker's best case scenario. Would the Wizards consider Dekker, KJ (salary only I know he's no good lol) a 1st, a 2nd and the right to swap firsts in the future as possible trade structure?
It's crazy looking at their roster. They are probably a luxury tax team if they max out Porter and they don't get better. Hard to know what to do if you are them honestly.
I think I would under the new CBA as I just don't see much chance a star is jumping in FA. Therefore I think you have to be predatory on players in Otto's situation that are borderline stars. (A guy like Gallo qualifies as well here) As for him being Ariza's backup, that would be up to Coach how he fits. I could see Otto being essentially Eric Gordon but at the 3/4 or he could start in place of Ariza and Ariza could be the sub. Otto is ELITE as a spot up shooter this year, I think something like top 1 or 2 in the league in terms of Points Per Possession. His offensive efficiency is elite, we're talking 5th in the league in EFG%, the first non center on the list.
Its definitely morey MO, target a high draft prospect at the end of his rookie contract. But I'm not sure Washington bites? He was a high high draft pick, and while not a all-star he should still be a core player no? I don't watch any of their games so IDK. They are a crappy front office, but he is a top 3 pick entering rfa. I just don't know if it happens. I don't think our 1st and what dekker? Harrell? Is enough but maybe they bite idk
He's having an all star caliber year. The only way they bite on anything we could offer is if they say to themselves "He's really good, but not a superstar and if we max him out in free agency we are locked into this team."
Yeah I had started your reply and just caught up after posting because I got busy. I think dekker/harrell/1st might get them to consider but them we for sure need a big.
Not sure I would do it. Deal works with Tyler Ennis. His expiring contract would be good for them. I'm sleeping on it. Pros and Cons of every deal. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=j6xwjm5
@justtxyank Center....Capela/Koufos...............Next yr: Capela/Koufos PF............Ryno/Nene.................................Ryno/..............?Nene (UFA re-sign)? Your lineup looks weird to me for some reason in formatting but I like your style. Here's what it would look like: Capela/Koufous/Nene Anderson/Porter Ariza/Poter Bev/Gordon Harden/Bev/Gordon
I genuinely think that team could have a shot at the time. The elite shooting on that lineup and the PnR finishing? Wow. Personally I would try to avoid including Harrell in the deal because I think you could use him at the 4 if necessary much easier than say Nene.
Yes, if you look at the PER: Harrell is around 20 & Dekker around 14, both probably getting better. Otto is around PER 17. Otto would be great w/Houston though.
