I'll take both Boban and Harris. I think Harris would be a better fit at the 4 for us than Ryno. Harris is just a bigger body, can shoot the 3 ball well enough to spread the floor and he can also create a bit for himself while also providing decent D. I also worship Boban as if he were Jesus so id like him here just for the sake of my religion.
McClemore is getting 30 minutes a game in February. He's getting showcased, do we care? McClemore+Kostas for Brewer+KJ+2nd round pick We need Kostas as a big C and we take a chance on Ben getting better. Do we need to give up a 1st instead of a 2nd? Should we?
Starting to think Boban might really be an interesting move...especially if we can't make a major move...how much his contract would impact our chances in free agency though? I mean, it's pretty low for today standards, but still...
Under no circumstance should Dekker be traded. The guy consistently produces within his role and brings 100% energy and effort, every second of every game.
Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer need to go. I don't care if you trade them for a bag of peanuts, but get rid of them!
We need a legit dominant big immediately. If we play some like Miami or Denver's bigs in playoffs, we're screwed.
Under no circumstance should Ryan Anderson be guarding centers like Whiteside, Gobert, Gasol, Cousins, and yet we keep getting into situations where this happens. Capella has really improved his offensive game but his defense and rebounding is flat poor. He is a very good backup center. Brewer has no place on an NBA team, yet he plays tons of meaningful minutes. Beverley can't seem to stay healthy. We need another ball handler who can create. A legitimate starting center. And a wing who is a decent role player on both sides of the ball. Names: Tim Frazier, Courtney Lee, Thabo Sefalosha, Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O'Quinn, Boban Marjanovic, Lou Williams, Wilson Chandler, C.J. Miles, Tiago Splitter, Nikola Vucevic, Jodie Meeks, DJ Augustin.
Corey Brewer, KJ McDaniels + 2017 11st to LA for Lou Williams and Nick Young. Lou Williams solves additional ball handler and scoring off the bench. Young can spell Arias and can fortunately finish at the basket. Hate to give up a 1st but....
Bleacher Report Hypothetical: Chicago Bulls Receive: SG Malik Beasley, PF Kenneth Faried, SG/SF K.J. McDaniels, PG Emmanuel Mudiay, 2017 unprotected first-round pick (via Denver), 2018 lottery-protected first-round pick (via Houston) Denver Nuggets Receive: SG/SF Corey Brewer, SG/SF Jimmy Butler, PG Michael Carter-Williams Houston Rockets Receive: PG Isaiah Canaan, SF/PF Wilson Chandler Spoiler Depending on the day, Jimmy Butler is either available or unavailable, expendable or untouchable. At this minute, according to Basketball Insiders' Steve Kyler, Chicago isn't moving him: The consensus on both Butler and George is that neither team, Chicago nor Indiana, would actually consider a serious offer at this point, mainly because moving either player would require an open roster spot to consummate and neither team really has one. Compound that with the notion that neither the Bulls nor the Pacers would concede their season now for a deal they could easily revisit in the offseason after whatever playoff run their respective teams have. Opening additional roster spots to make room for the assets they acquire in any Butler deal is something the Bulls can worry about in subsequent trades (spoiler alert!). If the Nuggets and Rockets bring this framework to the table, they have to at least think about it. Chicago nabs its possible franchise point guard in Emmanuel Mudiay. He hasn't been great through his first 1.5 seasons, but he's best suited within an offense that doesn't run things through Nikola Jokic. Kenneth Faried is affordable and peppy insurance for Taj Gibson's and Nikola Mirotic's (restricted) scheduled forays into free agency. K.J. McDaniels still has tantalizing potential on the defensive end, while Malik Beasley has a Robert Covington-meets-Danny Green ceiling. Snagging extra first-rounders in consecutive drafts is a solid way to break ground on a rebuild. Reuniting Wilson Chandler with Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni is almost unfair. He is a stark upgrade over Corey Brewer, lets Houston get more creative on defense and won't hit free agency until 2018 (player option). Sticking Butler in Denver legitimizes the Nuggets' postseason bid. They need to absorb Michael Carter-Williams and Brewer, but that's the price you pay for a top-15 player who, unlike the rest of your roster, knows how to wall off dribble penetration. Losing Mudiay is sneaky hard here, albeit not detrimental. The Nuggets have Jameer Nelson, Jokic remains their offensive focal point and the committee of Will Barton, Danilo Gallinari, Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Butler can pitch in on the playmaking front. Verdict: Green light. But if the Bulls insist on getting Harris instead of Beasley, or Murray instead of Mudiay, the Nuggets should oblige.
Ariza, Brewer and another player (to match salaries) for Batum. The Hornets might feel some pressure right now with how much they have to pay Batum. Ariza is a good placeholder and they become expirings next season. Those assist numbers indicate Batum is a playmaker and he can put the ball down and score/find the open man. I like his length and his ability to play off ball. He should be better in an offense with more shooters.
KJ, Ennis, Rights to Gentile and the Portland 2nd for Marco Belinelli Belinelli has a reasonable contract through next season and could be moved if necessary. He would be a perfect addition on the offensive end, adding both playmaking and shooting to our bench unit. Beverley Gordon Belinelli Dekker Nene/Harrell While this may make it a little more difficult to open up space this summer (I still don't think it would be that hard), it would give us an interesting blend of expiring contracts for next season. Ariza, Brewer, Belinelli and potentially Beverley (non-guaranteed for 2018-2019) would give us the contracts necessary to trade for a big fish (Cousins, George) while not leaving us barren of rotation players.
I don't mind the players we'd get in this, especially if we give up players not even playing for us, but no way would I facilitate a trade of Butler to another Western Conference team. Good Lord.
I actually like the idea of bringing both. Similar to bringing both of ego and Ryan. They bring chemistry with them to add to our chemistry. Helps Lakers tank and adds insurance in case they dont land their top3 pick as hopeful. Gives us much better depth at the wing with different potential lineups. Lou would be another secondary playmaking off the bench. Young seems like he has matured a lot. He has regressed as the season has gone on but that could be becauase of all the losing. Would still make us thin at defending the rim and with rebounding but much more firepower. We need better and more insurance for ego and bev
The Rockets really need to find a way to trade Trevor Ariza and Corey Brewer. Those two are the main problem. Both are very inconsistent and are mediocre at best. Corey Brewer is one the worst signs ever in Rockets history. This is why I think Daryl Morey and his "In Morey we trust" is overrated. A GM who brings bad and mediocre players with bad contracts is not a good GM. Screw him and F--- his fanboys.
