Noel is an obvious trade target. Young defensive center that can run pick-and-roll and COULD eventually become a 50+% midrange center. Still on a rookie scale contract through next season. Him and Smart have to be a couple of our top targets along with possibly McDermott, Warren, Oladipo, Winslow, Hezonja, Schroder, and.........Rubio.

I like the idea of Noel but what would it take to get him? IF I was Philly I wouldn't trade him for a draft pick this year unless it was number one or two.

We could get a protected 1st for Ariza, another one for Capella, and throw in our own 2018 1st and that wouldn't be enough. Trade Dwight for some mid to late 1sts too. Maybe all that would be enough. Is Noel worth gutting our team for?

Harden/DMoe/Noel big three with cap space galore. It does sound more fun than watching this team as it is.

    Dwight not the problem

But it's time to cut bait. Trade Dwight, rights to Llull and filler to Miami for Dragic, Whiteside and McRoberts.

Miami gets another big 3 to challenge Cleveland and Rockets try to salvage season with small ball and faster pace offense.

Noel was drafted at #6 and he's in the 3rd year of his rookie deal. I think it's a little much to expect that he should garner a #1 or #2 pick. But perhaps Capela, Dekker, and a future first rounder (most likely 15-30) for Noel and another contract could possibly be close.

The issue with Philly is they know they need a defensive stopper in the middle to become a playoff/championship contender in today's NBA. And that's not Okafor. And Noel is simply not good enough on the perimeter to play that role for them at the 4. So Philly really has to choose one of Okafor or Noel and trade the other.

But I think it's unreasonable to expect that a team will pop a #1 or #2 for Noel.

Where he was drafted does not matter and is one of most ignorant things you can use to base value on. Plus if you really want to use that as a basis for value, most draft experts had him rated as the number one pick before the injury. I don't think the sixers would entertain the offer above. They already have three centers so swapping one for another in Capela does not make any sense. Dekker has lost value, maybe worth a late 1st still. A future lottery protected pick is ok but not enough. They will want either a premium pick or player not several more lower grade assets. They have too many young players and picks, I doubt getting three more for their best or 2nd best player would entice them.

Okafor is who they should trade not Noel. Noel fits almost any team while Okafor you have to build around.

Where he was drafted does matter. If he doesn't significantly outperform, then it matters even more. And the further he gets into his rookie contract the more it devalues.

Noel has been good. He's shown plenty of defensive promise. But he's not going to be a superstar. He was drafted at 6. WCS was just taken in the last draft at #6. I seriously doubt that the Kings would trade WCS in the first year of his rookie deal for Noel, in the 3rd year of his rookie deal. And there is an influx of good, young bigs in the league right now. So all those things do matter. He's a #6 pick and he's in his 3rd season and he hasn't significantly out performed.

Now, the Sixers may not consider what I suggested to be fair value for Noel. That's their prerogative. And you have another legit point in your opinion that they would probably be better off in today's NBA keeping Noel to patrol the middle and moving Okafor for a high pick in this draft.

But the principle still applies here. Okafor has been good...but not overwhelming in his rookie campaign. He was drafted at #3. Do you think he'd garner a #1, #2, or #3 pick in the upcoming draft????? Nope! He wouldn't. Okafor would probably on garner a pick around 5-10 because he'll already be through the first season of his rookie deal and he hasn't broken out.

If Okafor was in this draft he would be the number 2 pick behind Simmons. This is a weak top of the draft. So you are saying Kris Dunn (who is mocked at pick 4) has more value than Okafor who has not under performed his draft position.

This draft is so week at the top that after pick 2, some would even say after pick one then the value drops off a cliff. So Noel in this draft is worth a very high pick for a team in need of a defensive center.

Sixers are looking to consolidate assets now not trade a dollar for three quarters. I really wish they would though. Hell I would trade your package above for Embiid if he could pass a physical right now.

They are not looking exactly to consolidate because two of their drafted players in Saric and Embiid haven't set their foot on an nba court to see what they got.

But Noel is going to ask for a big fat extension and Hinkie will have to make a choice. Soon.

Sakic is already coming over next year and Embiid's health will hopefully be known more by draft time. They have had enough of Hinkle's tactics and want to start making moves to win games, no more kicking the can down the road for future assets.

They are going to have to make decisions soon but i think they will try to bundle players and picks for better players or picks. Not sell Noel or Okafor for a bunch of low value assets. Which a two year away lottery protected pick and Dekker are. Capella might fetch a slightly higher pick but not enough for Noel.

Maybe if we give them back Walt Frazier, the championship trophy, and the chicken and rice stand.

Laughing at the idea of the Knicks trading their future star for a 30 year old big man withal a bad back and bad knees.

    irrelevant....

Porzingis looks for all the world like a future franchise player. Dwight is an old bum who wants squillions. No chance the Knicks trade Porzingis for anything.
