First do this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=habxuf2 Then this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hgxmwm8 Teague/Lawson/Terry Redick/Thornton Ariza/McDaniels Griffin/Dmo/Harrell Dwight/Capela Would never happen but I can dream
PG targets should include: Teague, D. Collison, J. Holliday, and a non big name but serviceable over the years, DJ Augustin.
I agree that we need another playmaker, but I don't think it's as black and white as you paint it to be. Westbrook is second in the league in turnovers but averages 10 dimes so his assist to turnover ratio is above 2. Think about how many blown layups, dunks and bricked jumpers have come off Harden's passing. There's no reason to assume he wouldn't be averaging 8+ assists a game with good shooters and guys who can finish around the rim in a variety of ways. Again, I agree he needs to cut down his turnovers. I think 3.5 a game is ideal. But to say he's not an elite playmaker off assist to turnover ratio alone is slightly misleading.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=z2bmdh2 Rationale: Miami is primed for a championship run. They get the Dwight-Bosh front court that we once dreamed of. Replace the hothead Whiteside with the more mature (lol) and playoff beast Dwight. Tucker provides a gritty tough defender who can hit the open shot. Harrell adds big man depth and energy. This lineup puts them in championship contention imo. And they'll have bird rights for Dwight to re-sign, unlike with Whiteside. Houston ends the Dwight experiment with two young pieces in Whiteside and Winslow. Can grow with Harden. Whiteside is a better finisher than Dwight but can be hard to reign in. Take a chance on #foe Markieff, hoping that he comes with a chip on his shoulder. Worst case, he gets convicted of a felony and his contract gets voided. Get Brewer's deal off the books. And no more TJones, which would make half this board very happy. Team can compete now and in the future. Phoenix needs to get the hotheads out and bring some veteran leadership to this struggling franchise. Although he runs around like a headless chicken at times, Brewer is one of the few professionals on our sorry team, as evident by JB's infatuation with him. This Trade is mostly about getting Morris' crazy self away from their team. MIA: Dwight/Amare/Stokes Bosh/Harrell/Haslem Tucker/Green/Thornton Wade/Johnson/Richardson Dragic/Udrih HOU: Whiteside/Capela/Anderson Morris/Smith/DMo Ariza/Deng/Dekker Harden/Winslow/KJ Bev/Lawson/Terry PHX: Who cares?
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zacuh4q Why not turn Kings and Pacers flirting into a 4-way Pacers In: Omri Casspi, K.J. McDaniels Out: G.Hill Kings In: George Hill, M. Teletovic Out: Rando, Casspi Rockets In: Rajon Rando, Markeiff Morris Out: Lawson, Jones, Daniels Suns In: Ty Lawson, T. Jones Out: Morris, Teletovic
Let me expand that list a little Conley, Teague, Hill, Oladipo, Holiday, Collison, Bradley, Delly All capable defenders, shooters and passers(save Bradley).
Oladipo? Oladipo will be a horrible fit here. Can't shoot well and needs the ball in his hands, and his defence is not elite. (just good). He can't play off ball. Bradley is not a playmaker AT ALL, can't pass has no vision and meh handles. He could fit here but it will not be an ideal fit. Harden will be the sole playmaker still. Delly yes. But for the summer and he will get paid much more. My best choice for next to Harden is Hill and Galloway. If I were Morrey I would try to trade Lawson to NY for Galloway + Grant + filler. (not calderon). Apart from that Batum I think would also fit well next to Harden but with teh contract he is going to get and his incosistency I am not sure we should be the ones paying him.
Boston: Dwight Howard Pacers: D-Mo KJ McDaniels Trevor Ariza Patrick Beverly Brooklyns 2016 1st Rounder Rockets 2018 1st Rounder Rights to Sergio Lull:grin: Rockets: Paul George Lavoy Allen Jonas Jerekbo Lol pipe dream
Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 1m1 minute ago If we could wager on the 2016 NBA trade deadline. I'd bet on Horford/Teague/Dwight getting traded, and I'd put down a longshot bet on Blake. 0 retweets 0 likes Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 1m1 minute ago Wouldn't bet on Boogie getting traded b/c Sac is way way way screwed up internally right now. Can't agree on anything behind the scenes.
Bill Simmons @BillSimmons 42s42 seconds ago Most likely to make a power move: Toronto, then Boston. East is wide open. Most likely to gut their team: Phoenix, then Phoenix again.
wow bill simmons. What an insider Like we needed him to tell us that Phoenix is tanking and selling and that Toronto has a huge hole at pf and MUST do something to fill it by all means neccesary esp if they want to do well in the playoffs and resign Derozan. I'm so blessed to have the likes of Bill Simmons give us his insight Next. Water is wet.
I still contend David Stern royally screwed over the Rockets from that vetoed trade for basketball reasons. Pau Gasol is still a very solid player who transitioned well into the new NBA. His ability to shoot will keep him in the league. He's a far better fit for Harden than Dwight for sure and it ain't close. I'm sure Morey and his asset management magic would've found a way to get Harden if he still wanted him.
If you took out Dwight and put Pau in this team we would be the absolutely last in defence. By a wide margin. Even worse than the Lakers. You should see more Bulls games. Pau is constantly attacked in PNR because he's either lazy or doesn't care or can't move his feet to defend. That's why Noah's injury hurts them so much.
