Anyone know the much about Gal Mekel? He was just put on waivers by the Mavericks...another way to stick it to the Mavs... Seems like a quick PG
You can't combine a trade exception with anything else, and it needs to be equal to, or greater, than the salary coming into it. Millsap doesn't fit into it, so it can't be used to get him. We could use KPap + Motie to get him (that is close enough to match). I can't see why the Hawks would do it?
Cap wise yes. No , he doesn't fit. His salary is $9.5m , the Lin TPE is $8,374,646 & DrNuegebauer is correct , it cannot be combined with other salary. It can however be used in a simultaneous trade. I don't see why either team does it to be honest - ATL gives up the best player & the Rockets destroy their depth at SF .... and who knows how good KPap will be ?? I wonder if Toronto would come off of Amir Johnson who is in the last year of his deal ... Not a stretch 4 but a tough player who also fits into the Lin TPE. After watching TJones last night , I get the feeling Morey will roll with him at the position like it or not. He looked like an AllStar in the first half and an NBA-DL scrub in the second half , especially when Howard was on the bench during the early part of the 3rd quarter. When he is playing well , he makes this team pretty much unstoppable on the offensive end. Then he has a bad stretch .....
Could Gerald Wallace fit into the Lin TE? Obviously this would just be an enticement for a Rondo deal.
What is available as far as pgs go? Has barea signed with Dallas yet? Will bynum possibly? Any chance we could get brooks back from the bulls?
Barea has re-signed with Dallas. Will Bynum remains a free agent as far as I know. No idea about Brooks being available.
As israeli I'm certainly not neutral here as I want israeli in Houston once again... But I will still say that Rockets should take look at him. While it's correct that Gal is not great shooter, he's really (and I mean really) good passer, good ballhandler, he is good in running team and "making everyone involved" and also pick-n-roll specialist. He has good size for PG (unlike Ish Smith). And he's not bad defender. Last year was mostly disappointment as in the beginning of the season he got chance to play (Harris and Larkin were injured) but didn't suceed to adopt to the league quick enough and then Harris returned and Gal also got injured... But in this preseason he showed he's much more NBA-ready and posted good stats of 7.6 ppg (50% FG), 3.9 apg (1.9 topg) on 19.4 min per game in 8 games. Here's highlights from one of preseason games - judge by yourselves: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/41eG0Qc8MrQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Trade Motie for Tyler Ennis and future 2nd rounder. That's pretty good trade for both sides. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m5hv4sf
This! They are one of the only teams with a glut. This guy is a pure PG and he has a 6' 7" wingspan at the point. Seems good for D.
Nate Wolters would be great. He had an underrated rookie season and this year will be buried in the bench. Good playmaker, can make the open shot. Should be relatively cheap to bring over, maybe a 2nd round plus/or cash. Not sure we have anything else they need. The other back-up PG would be Will Bynum. More of a scorer than a passer, he could be the spark-plug off the bench. Better than Canaan in penetration and finishing at the rim. A bit on the short side to be a defensive plus, but he makes it up with effort.
Develop our own talent and possibly trade for a eal star later. Trade DMo for a reasonable pick and resign back Adrien if possible.
I think Taj would be an upgrade on this team for sure. Solid solid solid fundamentally and defensively, which TJones isn't... BUT, yes, it is too much to give up. Terrence is 6 years younger and puts up similar per36 minutes and has had a higher PER his first two years than Taj has every had. Taj is also, actually, nothing that special as a mid-range shooter (not that we take a lot of those) and doesn't shoot three's at all. I still think he'd be an upgrade because of the consistency and defense, and will at least bet that as a starter, his numbers would get better.... BUT when you factor in the dude gets paid $8+ million for the next three years... yeah, it's way too much.
