I'm assuming JJ is JJ Barea? Not an terrible deal. Not sure I'd pull the trigger on that one, though.
something like that may happen if minny offers Bledsoe max as reported and Bledsoe takes it. unless they do some sign and trade minny and phx.

I could see some version now of basketballholic's proposal, at least for academic purposes, but Minnesota would have to send out XYZ amount of contracts to get it covered; they won't be under the cap until next summer (if they stood pat now).
Ancillary parts are just that ancillary. Basic premise is Bledsoe to MIN, Rubio here, and other pieces flying everywhere. And yes, Barea would be part of the dump for MIN. Most likely here with Rubio while we lose 2 of 3 of Canaan/Bev/Johnson and other talent/picks.
I don't think Rubio is a good fit at at all. To me he's soft, injury prone and his defense is way overrated. Not a very good shot. Are we that thirsty?
watched some highlights of Rubio, wasnt amazed. Dragic is better. if we do for some reason get rubio. Hopefully its to flip him
Yeah , Dragic is a much better player than Rubio and would be a great fit here ... But I just cant see Phx moving their best player for peanuts. Rubio would be an upgrade , he's very similar to Rondo .... and most would be happy with him and his piss poor FT shooting. I'd take Rubio off their hands if I could keep the current rotation players in the process , throwing a pick their way along with one or more of Canaan , Covington , Josh Powel, Nick Johnson or Capela.
to oogie boogie who rep'd me asking about how sure I am about my sources. My sources are good. That doesn't mean Rubio (or anybody else) will become a Rocket. It simply means 2 things: 1. Morey likes Rubio a lot 2. Talks are ongoing and being worked on.
If the bledsoe deal happens a thrid team will need to get involved. If that occurs and Rondo doesn't happen we should turn our attention to Reggie Jackson. OKC is up against it again and will have to make a decision on him and with him being behind Westbrook they will not want to put that much money into one position.. Just don't think Rubio can help this team.
If Minnesota trades for Eric Bledsoe, then yes, they will trade Ricky Rubio, and I think they'll trade him to Houston. But there will likely be two separate trades: 1) Eric Bledsoe signed-and-traded to Minnesota for Nikola Pekovic plus a removal of any and all restrictions on that first round pick that Minnesota owes Phoenix. 2) Jason Terry and that Pelicans first round pick for Rubio. Maybe Houston adds Donatas Motiejunas and/or Isaiah Canaan, and Minnesota adds J.J. Barea and/or Ronny Turiaf. These two moves are simpler, and more likely, in my opinion. But yeah, Rubio is almost certainly being targeted by Daryl Morey right now. Advanced stats love Rubio despite the fact he can't shoot, and Morey is a big believer in advanced stats. Rubio is terrific, and may put this team over the top, and sooner than you think, too.
I think if the Bledsoe to Minny Rumors are true...we will roll the Terry trade into a 4 team deal involving Houston, Minnesota, Phoenix, and Sacramento. with Bledsoe going to Minnesota and Rubio going to Houston
Sources: Suns have no interest in Eric Bledsoe sign-and-trade with Minnesota By Adrian Wojnarowski http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--suns-have-no-interest-in-eric-bledsoe-sign-and-trade-with-minnesota-214336996.html T_Man
That's good news for us IF (like I'm hoping) we're after Dragic. Suns will never let both Bledsoe and Dragic leave.
If Bledsoe and Dragic are off the table, Rockets should reconsider trading for J Smoove. With combo guard Spencer Dinwiddie.
No need for a desperate move. We can ill afford to have J. Smith even if he comes with Dinwiddle, who I admit is an interesting player.
