No, no rocket fan forever off course for miami is a great move But I think Battier can bring us some veteran leadership and some defense and the trade prove Morey can get 2 1st round picks
Wouldn't that be the ideal scenario problem is Parsons and Jones are just too little salary to trade for a Love or Horford player.
Aaron brooks + Omer Asik + Greg for Loul Deng We have him play our 6th man/lockdown defender And call up olhberct and play our backup C Beverley/Lin Harden/Garcia Parsons/Deng Jones Howard/ohlbrect Thats if omer doesnt want to play the backup role and demands a trade. the bulls need a pg especially with mike james down. We dont lose anything by trading brooks (after lin return)
Pumped up for the game today. Couldn't wait so I tried to find some Rockets mixes on youtube. Found this recent one of James Harden. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/KANLhJ53nls" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What do you guys think about Trading Bev for Bradley? Not that I'm suggesting that we do, I just want to see what everyone thinks about it
I want Melo. This is the time to strike. If we can get Melo without sending out Parsons would be awesome.
Asik, Beverly, Dmo, picks for Rondo and Bass Boston gets a VERY good defensive core with Asik, Beverly, and Bradley. A forward to develop in Dmo alongside Olynik. Rockets get a legit 4 in Bass who has and can play alongside Dwight....and that proven playmaker in Rondo who will be so valuable come April.
The Rockets DO NOT have the best package available unless they make either Howard and Harden available which they will not do. If the Knicks made Melo available in trade talks - Chicago, Detroit, and Boston would be first in line with the best trade packages available to deal that immediately would trump anything the Rockets could offer. And Melo cannot force his way to the Rockets because they do not have cap space flexibility as leverage. The Lakers, Mavs, Orlando, Detroit, Cleveland, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Utah, Phoenix, and Philly would be the only teams Melo could force trades to by saying he will sign there in free agency otherwise unless another team is able to do a major salary dump here in the next two months ALA Golden State this Summer. If the Knicks feel like they need to move Melo, and Melo wants out, Chicago seems like the obvious destination for both parties to truly be happy with the outcome.... and Melo has the Lakers as leverage to tell the Knicks "move me to Chicago now for something or lose me to LA this Summer for nothing." The Rockets have almost no shot of competing with these offers, or gaining leverage.
They have leverage if Melo says Houston is his preference. No, Houston can't sign him in free agency and they may not have the best trade package. But if Houston brings Lin, Parsons and whatever they can get for Asik to the table, I'd expect that to be a very competitive offer. It's all a guessing game at this point, but Houston's name should be thrown around by the media as we get closer to the trade deadline. Chicago can probably make the most competitive offer: Charlotte's 1st, Mirotic, Chicago's own 2014 1st, and Deng's expiring for Melo. Rose/Melo/Noah would be a formidable lineup in the east.
This. If Melo says that he won't re-sign for certain teams, then that makes the remaining teams considerably more competitive.
Jeff Adrien anyone? http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10075038/four-trade-fits-contenders-tankers-nba Houston Rockets Need: rebounding PF Possible targets: Kris Humphries, Jeff Adrien, Anderson Varejao, Andrew Nicholson, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson Best scenario: Trade Isaiah Canaan to Charlotte for Adrien and a future second-round pick. The Rockets are an offensive powerhouse, but will need to firm up their middling defense in order to make a push for this season's championship. The hole in the defensive dossier is rebounding, where the Rockets rank just 24th in percentage. They have plenty of rebounding in the middle with Dwight Howard and Omer Asik (assuming he isn't traded), but the power forwards aren't strong enough on the defensive glass to make up for a lack of board work from the guards. You can probably rule out the big names on Houston's target list because coach Kevin McHale isn't going to play a rebounding specialist heavy minutes anyway, but he could still use a situational rebounder. That player could turn out to be Greg Smith, who is on the verge of returning from a knee injury. However, if Asik is indeed traded, or Smith isn't able to get fully healthy, then Adrien makes a lot of sense for Houston. Adrien is undersized, but is one of the better percentage defensive rebounders in the league. Since Adrien's first stint in Houston, he has improved his efficiency by upgrading his shot selection and accepting his role as a low-usage specialist. From Charlotte's perspective, the deal allows it to acquire a point guard prospect in Canaan to develop behind Kemba Walker. With a new backup in place, Charlotte would be free to move Ramon Sessions if the Bobcats begin to play down to their point differential. While Charlotte can push for a playoff spot in this season's Eastern Conference, it might not be the long-term interest of the club to do so. The Rockets have plenty of depth at point guard, which is why Canaan is in the D-League. However, he's averaging 18.8 points and 10.5 assists down there, so that's why I'm guessing the Bobcats would have to throw in at least one draft pick.
I just saw that article and I gotta say, if Canaan is averaging those numbers, well, I know the NBA and the Z-League are two different things, but I don't see Morey throwing that away. Especially with Lin coming off the books next year and we might need his replacement.
In my opinion the most untouchable guys on this Rockets roster are: 1. James 2. Dwight 3. Chandler 4a. Canaan 4b. Beverley These 5 guys are virtually untouchable unless we are getting Lebron or a serious 3rd superstar. If we could acquire a 3rd superstar then Canaan/Beverley may be in play in that trade.....maybe. But very unlikely that a 3rd superstar involves any of Harden, Dwight, or Parsons...unless it's for Lebron. As far as the rest of the guys, these next 3 are tweeners that could be moved but not real likely: 5. Garcia (he gave us a minimum salary special when he could've gotten more on the open market...he's most likely staying here on a promise of being re-upped using his early bird rights) 6. Covington (another young player with potential on a multi-year minimum non-guarantee deal, he could be moved based on potential, but not real likely unless he really goes crazy at RGV) 7. TJones (could be moved but has shown a spurt of potential development that could mean the deal has to be a substantial deal for him to go) 8. GSmith (with Asik leaving he's possibly needed but he could be traded if we get the right big back for Asik) 9. Brooks (since we are going to move Asik the odds are much better that we will trade Lin also. If we trade Lin, Brooks could actually survive the season here.) 10. Casspi (he's redundant if we get another 3/4 in a trade) 11. Brewer (non-guaranteed contract and poor shooter, most likely gone as trade fodder alongside Asik and/or Brewer before January 10th guarantee date) 12. DMo (our one youngster who has loads of potential and can't get minutes here, he still has trade value and upside to use as attractant to get a deal done) 13. Lin (when we move Asik, Lin may go with him or Lin may actually go before him or after him in a separate deal. ) 14. Asik (he's gonna be traded). I will be surprised if more than one of Asik/Lin/DMo/Brewer are here after the trade deadline.
Under-the-radar 3&D wing trade target: Brandon Rush expiring $4 million contract. he can flat out shoot it and he's a stellar defender. He's coming off injury so I'm sure he's rusty but this dude is a player. Would love to have him as part of either an Asik or Lin trade. He would allow Parsons to move over to the 4 more easily as he can play the 3 alongside Harden and take the best offensive player between the opponents 2/3. Still thinking about DocRockets tweet: I think the deal with Milwaukee involves Lin going to Milwaukee, not Asik. Lin to Milwaukee, Ilyasova out to Utah, Kanter and Rush to Houston with Houston throwing Utah a pick....a pick that we get from a separate Asik trade.
