I'd like to talk to Phoenix about acquiring Archie Goodwin.

Good structure, but I like it for everyone except Phoenix. They have a decent back court and have said that they will play Dragic and Bledsoe together, which kind of removes the need for another SG. Especially one on a ridiculous contract. Gordon's a good player, but it would leave them with only Alex Len as far as center options go so I don't see it.

Why do you think that? Dwight plays ~30 minutes and Asik plays ~25...that's 7 minutes of them playing together which Morey said they would do (he actually said 5-10)

    This is me dreaming...

Denver In: Terrence Jones, HOU 2015 1st Round Pick, CHA 2014 1st Round Pick (from POR, top 12 protected), HOU 2015 2nd Rounder (POSSIBLY HOU 2017 1st Rounder instead. I couldn't decide, but it seemed like too much)
    Denver Out: Kenneth Faried

Charlotte In: Omer Asik, 2014 2nd Rounder (from NY)
Charlotte Out: Brendan Haywood, 2014 1st Rounder (from Portland top 12 protected)

Rockets In: Kenneth Faried, Brendan Haywood
Rockets Out: Omer Asik, Terrence Jones, 2015 1st Round Pick, 2014 2nd Rounder

Why Denver does it: They do this because of value. Not because of need. 3 picks and Terrence Jones seems like a lot for Kenneth Faried. It might be, but the Rockets have the luxury of potentially overpaying in terms of draft picks because of the young talent already on our roster. Denver won't want to trade Faried, but if they get an offer they can't refuse, you never know. (Everyone's available at the right price). T-Jones is a prospect, and fits with Denver's fast paced style.

Why Charlotte does it: They desperately need a good defensive player to pair with Al Jefferson. Especially while they develop Zeller who is not the most defensive player in the world. This gives them that, and for not too steep of a price. The pick is top 12 protected, and Haywood is an old, average backup center. The 2nd Rounder is a throw-in to make sure they do the deal.

Why Houston does it: It fills the PF spot with a really nice fit. Superhuman hustler, great rebounder, very efficient scoring, really good on the break, and most of all he can defend really well. His Win Share was 7.8 (3.4 DWS) and had a defensive rating of 102. He's not ball-demanding. He just plays really well off of others. He's also a young, energetic, outgoing guy that would mesh with the rest of our young guys really well. We'd also get Haywood as a backup center. He's kind of whatever, but he did win a title with the Mavs as a backup center in 2011 so he can bring experience and decent cover for Howard.

In the end, it seems decently fair. What are your thoughts? Fair? A good fit? etc.

Charlotte wins, Denver loses, we break even.

I love Faried, but he's not attainable and he's probably not a good fit with Dwight.

Let's agree there is NO trades till midseason, atleast. If Asik fits bad and PF's looks really bad, team losing games where they shouldn't - then we may consider some trade. But now, no chance. We have all peaces at this point to compete and pray for the best.

I like the deal above that brings in Rondo and Green. But I don't think it would cost that much.

Lin+Asik+Motiejunas+1st rounder is more fair IMO.

    Howard/Camby/Smith
    Green/Jones/Casspi
    Parsons/Garcia/Casspi
    Harden/Williams
    Rondo/Bev/Brooks

The original idea already looks like lowball. Rondo for all his flaws and injury is a star. And Green was also very good in the 2nd half of the season.

I don't think the Celtics will give you a star (Rondo) and a very good starter (Green) for one very good starter (Asik) and some throw ins.

Well if we want to preserve Howard's body then 30 mins is good enough for him. At the end of the day what really counts is the playoffs, and if Howard spent 40 mins a night battling no-name centers in the regular season he won't have enough juice to face LBJ in the finals.

Why do you think TD spent his entire career at PF when he's clearly a center? Or why does LBJ still play the SF when he always becomes a PF when he's serious? Those guys get a 2nd gear by playing at a lesser impact position during the regular season, Howard can't do that but he can limit his minutes so he'll be fresher when it's time to win.
