    Monroe is their PF now.
Stuckey is their SG of the future.
Austin Daye sucks and will be out of the league soon.
Drummond is there to compliment Monroe long term, not replace him.
Monroe is a top 10 PF, young, improving. This trade would look more lopsided than the Pau Gasol to the Lakers trade looked at the time.

I honestly don't see anything on our roster that would convince Detroit to give up Monroe. He's going to be their franchise guy, he's like Demarcus Cousins without any "attitude problems".

Because it's been rumored that Marc doesn't want to play in Orlando and would demand a trade. (Granted, I just started that rumor right now but if this situation arises, HoopsWorld will read my comment and repost it as from a "source", then Broussard tweets it then BLAM!, Orlando has to include Houston because they're scared Marc will demand a trade. You're welcome, Houston.)

    awesome!

on that note, reliable sources have told me that the player selected with the 2013 Raptors pick would prefer to play in Indiana.
While it's not clear who that player may be yet, this attitude seems wide spread and is likely to force a Raptors pick for Tyler Hansbrough trade at some point between now and the trading deadline.

Perhaps we could do something similar to last years Gasol/Nene pairing.

The following trades are the foundations, no idea if we can make it work salary matching wise.

    Trade #1
    Kevin Martin
    Jeremy Lamb
    Royce White
    Toronto lottery pick
    filler

    for

    Dwight Howard
    Jason Richardson

    Trade #2
    Donteas Motiejunas
    Terrence Jones
    Dallas pick
    filler

    for

    Nene Hilario

    Leaves us with potentially:

    Lin / Machaddo
    Richardson / ???
    Parsons / Morris
    Nene / Patterson
    Howard / Asik

Pick up a guy like Delonte West in free agency and I think you have a contending lineup.

The only thing I see wrong with this is that we'll have to make sure Delonte has enough vacation time off from Home Depot to play.

    that's a sensible direction.

Nene may not be a clear cut fit, but it's an interesting piece nonetheless.
either way, there should be a number of options once you get Howard.

i don't want to do the math on the trades, but you would surely have no space left for free agents. so that final part would be off.
also, taking J-Rich may not be enough.

    We should get
    C - Bynum
    PF - Nene
    SF - Mcgrady
    Sg - gordon
    Pg - Lin

    Then we'll have a NBA's "Injury Prone" Starting 5..
In that way, we'll look good on papers (more season ticket holders) and tank at the same time.

    Hah, yeah.

Atlanta would never do that; I believe they're still convinced they can make noise in the playoffs with Horford and Smith. I always figured they'd be best just moving Smith for young guys who have potential and draft picks, building around Horford.

We'd have to take back a bad contract from Orlando, so of course it' not feasible.

But, it'd be a hell of a dream scenario.

Agreed. Frankly, if Horford was healthy this year, they'd probably be the #3 seed and kept that team together.

Everyone praises Danny Ferry for getting rid of Johnson, but it's meaningless if they are now stuck paying ~30 mil for Horford and Smith after this season, since Smith is going to look for max.

    I don't see the plan.
The chance for Howard coming there is extremely small, unless they trade for him.
No point for CP3s to go there.
    Harden? He'd get matched.

They should've offered Horford for Howard and kept Johnson. Or rebuilt that team around Horford a long time ago.

    Slow day in my world...http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=8p5nrru

    T-Wolves
in - Martin, Patterson, 2nd round pick
    out - D.Williams, Ridnour, D.Cunningham

With Kirilenko and Budinger at small forward now in the mix and all-star Love at the power forward Williams is odd man out. Rubio and Barea makes Ridnour tradeable. Cunningham has some upside making it hard but is need to make the money match (second round pick). Martin and Patterson fit well with RA system putting them in the win now mode.

    Jazz
    in - D.Williams, M.Morris, D.Cunningham, G.Smith
    out- A.Jefferson

Soild return on an expiring contract. D.Williams gets some playing time and shows why he was 2nd in his draft as Millsap and Marvin Williams are in contract years. Morris puts up or is out of the league at seasons end. Cunningham is a darkhorse in the trade. Smith is a back up to Favors and Kanter with more playing time each.

    Rockets
    in - A.Jefferson, Ridnour
out - Martin, Patterson, Morris, G.Smith, 2nd round pick

    Both are much needed
