Rockets get: Chris Paul Hornets get: Aaron Brooks Jason Thompson Jered Jeffries David Andersen Sacramento gets: Jermaine Taylor James Posey
Brooks, Hill, Jeffries, Battier, David Andersen, Chase Budinger, Landry trade exception, and both NY's picks. for Chris Paul Emeka Okafor
think realistically. we are talking about Chris Paul. you ain't gonna sell them short. they would want young talent in return(Bud) and if they want Budinger, he isn't gonna stop the deal from happening if it's on the table period. Best case is they buy out Batman and he returns to us. CP3/Lowry Martin/Taylor Ariza/Battier/Harris Scola/Okafor/Hayes Yao/Miller/Okafor not happening though...
I'm a HUGE Gerald Wallace fan!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyAwkQsm-8A ... Enough Said! So here we go! Ariza/Battier/Hill for Wallace/Matt Carroll
Don't see why not if Paul is adamant he wants out, they have Collison to replace him. To get this done you have to move AB to a third team and then have the third team send a similar AB level talent at another position to NO. AB will be moved IMO, he's a classic sell high guy just like Landry. Morey is just waiting for a superstar like Paul to become available.
Maybe something like: Hou: Okafor and Paul NO: Iguodala, Hill, Jeffries, picks Philly: AB, Battier, Andersen You get the idea though the salaries probably don't match and more pieces from NO and Philly would probably need to get moved around. Basically a three way trade of AB, Iggy, and Paul nucleus with Houston also throwing in players like Hill, Bud, Jeffries and picks.
I think that any CP3 trade will want to pawn off Emeka and possibly even Posey's contract. I saw this from another basketball forum and thought it was creative attempt. Clutch, you may want to add some additional rules to your OP. Even in the first page and a half of random trades, I've already seen enough impossible trades whose creators would be helped by these guidelines. (1) The Rockets need to trade out at least somewhat equivalent salary in any trade. They are over the cap. (2) Trade exceptions cannot be combined with other salary or other trade exceptions. They can only be used to acquire a player making equal to or less than the amount of the trade exception. For example, the $3M trade exception from the Carl Landry deal cannot be combined with Shane Battier (~$7M) in exchange for a player making $10M. (3) Kyle Lowry (as a restricted free agent signed to a matched offer sheet) cannot be traded for one full calendar year (a) to the Cleveland Cavaliers or (b) to any other team without his consent.
Three team trade: Clipps, Rox and Kings ........ Rockets receive: Deandre Jordan Clippers receive: Donte Greene Kings receive: Jermaine Taylor NY pick 2012 ........ 2010/11 Depth chart: Brooks | Lowry Martin | Budinger Ariza | Battier Scola | Hill | Pat Yao | Miller | Jordan
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2bcb4cu Rockets Receive: Chris Paul James Posey Hornets Receive: Kevin Martin Chase Budinger Jared Jeffries NYK 2011 First Round Pick NYK 2012 Right to swap First Round Picks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This gives the Hornets the SG they need in Martin as well as a promising young SF in Budinger. This will keep them competitive as they roll out with a line up of Darren Collison, Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger, David West, and Emeka Okafor, while giving them a chance to add talent with the Knicks picks. They also unload James Posey's heavy contract. As far as the Rockets go we get Chris Paul, the superstar we need. At first glance it seems we're leaving a hole at SG but Brooks (who led the league in made 3's last year) can easily slide over and play the 2 and be quite effective as a pure scorer. Not to mention we get Posey who has two rings
Really digging this trade idea. Completely agree with the fact that we can move Brooks to the 2 and still be successful. Great job, Greek.
CP3/Lowry Brooks/Battier Ariza/Posey Scola/Hayes/Patterson Yao/Miller/Hill Not bad, but Brooks is kind of undersized at the 2 guard.
