I would hate to give up EG and Capela but would this be a fair trade? In this scenario I’m assuming Rivers walks, and we re-sign House. I don’t know how many picks would have to be involved to make this work.

I’m a fan of Harry Giles. Not a stretch player, but he does some of everything. His passing and floor vision are well above average for a young big. He’s not lob dependent. He scores with ease around the basket and has middle distance range. He has really nice handles for a big. I think his ceiling is much higher than Clint’s. This kid working with Lucas and Hakeem could take him to the next level.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sa...5/24/18635225/harry-giles-is-a-sleeping-giant

    Bogdanovich would replace EG.

Richaun Holmes could be a good value add for the minimum. He would give James/CP a legitimate lob threat, and add depth to the center spot.

And of course J Green with MLE.

    CP3/Bogdanovich
    Harden/Butler
    Butler/House
    PJ/JGreen/Clark
    Giles/Holmes/Hartenstein

The center position would be tricky in regards to the rotation. You could start JGreen vs average sized centers, and start the game with a 5 out look. Giles may not be ready for starters minutes at the start of the season.

    On a side note:

Fantasma got my attention with NtilIkina. Can he be had for a second round pick in case Rivers walks?

Blowing up the core options. Win now moves. How about Butler and Love?

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y4ep6s4o

    Paul/Rivers
    Harden/Osman/GG?
    Butler/House/Shump?
    Love/Clark
    Holmes/Nance Jr.

    Or

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6xen64k

Replace Nance Jr with Bolden. Bolden can stretch the floor and rebound. I lean toward the Bolden scenario because he can give us a 5 out option.

Give the MLE to Rivers if we can’t get a suitable back up pg with the vet minimum.

If Rivers walks try to get a cheap defensive minded pg. Give the MLE (9.2 mil) to JGreen or another 5 who can shoot(Dedmond).

After Holmes latest trouble with the law, he shouldn’t get more than the minimum.

Our young bench would have to grow up quick. Perimeter defense would be the main concern. Team rebounding should improve dramatically.

    CP/?
    Harden/Osman
    Butler/House
    Love/JGreen?/Clark
    Dedmond?/Holmes/Bolden or Nance Jr.

Don’t be afraid to shake up this core Morey.

Just posting my late night fantasy scenarios. Every team wins in this case.

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y4lyp29b

We need a wing(s). We need rebounding. We need better shooting. We need toughness. We need a better surrounding cast for Harden. If we can’t land Butler, let’s use our two best assets to obtain depth in positions of need. Richardson may be the best we can hope for if we seriously want to upgrade our SF spot.

Miami does it because of their cap situation. They need to unload bad contracts. We can take on James Johnson(or Olynyk) if they are willing to part with Richardson and Winslow. Miami gets a great contract with EG, a decent cheaper stretch 4 and Hartenstein. But more importantly cap relief.

Sacramento does it because they were on of the teams who supposedly coveted Capela. They desire a better starting center. They get a legitimate starting young center and only have to give up role players. They would have a young and exciting core to build around for the future.

Why trade Capela for bench/role players? Because we need better shooting and playmaking off our bench with the departure of EG. With CP declining, I want as many viable players as possible who can step in and play the 1 or the 2 if necessary. Winslow did a great job playing pg last year when Dragic went down. Bogdanovich has well above average playmaking ability as well. He makes good decisions and can get his shot from anywhere on the court. Ferrell is undersized but he can shoot and he competes.

Every player in this deal (with the exception of Johnson) shoots close to 37% from 3 or higher. Our wing defense would improve dramatically. We would have versatile play makers all over the court. If Rivers walks Ferrell would be more CP insurance and cheap depth. He probably wouldn’t see too many minutes unless CP goes down.

The problem is a starting caliber center with size. In my dream DJ takes a home town discount but maybe someone like Lopez can be had for the minimum. I think we have no choice but to go cheap at center if we want to really improve this roster. Do what you have to do to get J Green.

Give Miami a first. If they want more picks you may have to throw in a second but we would be going them a big favor by taking on the Johnson contract. Morey would have to negotiate.

Johnson could play a poor man’s Draymond Green as a back up small ball 5. He can play make from the 5 spot when Harden gets trapped ect. He could be a sneaky good pickup even though he only shoots 30% from 3.

    CP/Winslow/Bogdanovich/Ferrell
    Harden/Bogdanovich
    Richardson/Winslow/Bogdanovich
    PJ/J Green/Johnson/Clark
    DJ/J Green/Johnson

Miami has the right kind of culture. They always play hard, and they all seem to have tough defensive mentalities. J Green has a similar mentality. This new roster would not lack toughness or grit.

Our second unit of CP, Bogdanovich, Winslow, J Green and Johnson could be one of the best in the league. 3 additional playmakers with the second unit would ease the iso pressure off of CP as his iso skills continue to diminish.

Everyone says our role players aren’t very good. Let’s improve the overall roster even if we can’t land an all star.

use MLE on Brook Lopez. We'd have a lot of work to do in filling out the remainder of the roster but it's a nice start to a new look team. Maybe sign Richaun Holmes or Nerlens Noel to be Harden's new PNR guy.

    CP3
    Harden
    Brown
    Hayward/ PJ Tucker
    Lopez/

    Butler and Lonzo to Houston
    Anthony Davis To lakers
Ingram, Kuzma and cp3 To sixers
Capela and Ben Davis To pelicans.

There would have to be a bit of work to make salaries work but it’s doable.

    In a nut shell
Clint for Love and Nance Jr.
    EG for Richardson and Winslow

    Offer a second for Ntilikina

    CP/Winslow/Ntilikina
    Harden/Winslow
    Richardson/Tucker
    Love/J Green
    DJ/Nance Jr

Love and J Green can give them a 5 out option with size. If not DJ throw in whatever center who might take the minimum to play for a contender.

    No more small ball.

5 outs with size and rebounding:
    CP
    Beard
    Richardson/Winslow
    Love/PJ
    J Green

Are we including lube to Miami in this proposal?

Richardson and Winslow separately have more value than Gordon, getting both is hilariously lopsided for us.

Attach a 1st. Gordon’s value isn’t that low. Plus he is an expiring. Miami can open up a ton of cap space to after free agents in 2020.

At least that’s what I’m selling if I’m Morey;)

    Lube is optional btw.

I don’t think anyone outside of the Lakers takes on Paul’s contract.
