It adds depth that can help now. I don’t think JR is a distraction on a championship caliber squad. Clarkson is better than Knight. And allows the rockets to trade for Hayward or someone with similar salary without including Gordon. Idk what there isn’t to like.
TJ McConnell. Makes 1.6 million this year, and is a tough mother effer to throw in there for CP3. High character, stud on ball defender. Would be a perfect guy to have in our switching defense, and off the ball. He is currently out of the rotation in Phila.
Small trade idea. The T-Wolves have back-to-back DNP'd Anthony Tolliver since the trade. I wouldn't mind him coming over, ($5.75M one year deal), and it probably wouldn't cost a lot to get him, given the T-Wolves youth movement. Chriss + MCW or Melo, and maybe a protected 2nd round pick. He's a decent defender and good 3 point shooter, as a stretch 4. Would seem to be plug and play and give us some good depth on a one year deal.
Tolliver has been discussed. So has Jason Smith and Thomas Satoransky. Morey is trying to move Brandon Knight and possible Nene by Dec. 7. Discussions center around teams that may possibly want Melo.. Washington, Portland, Miami, Knicks. One deal that has been discussed is Knight and Nene for Mahinmi and Smith...and Bryant. Other combos with Washington have been discussed tootoo including Markieff, Rivers, Satoransky, Oubre, and....yes....Porter possibly later at the deadline. Melo could be traded to Washington on Dec. 15. Discussions with Knicks involve Knight, Nene for Lee, Thomas, and/or a minimum salary guard. Minny talks are 3 way talks with us and Washington involving Dieng/Tyus and multiple combinations with Washington. Focus is I breaking Knight up into two players or Knight/Nene into two or three players and getting another chunk of expiring salary ready to possibly use in trade at the deadline When you gonna break this Cyber ? Take note of the date guys. It is Nov. 17, 2019. Care to guess for who? ?
No thought on why Orlando would want to do it, but for a while, I've been thinking that with his defense and 3PT shooting, Terrence Ross would be a good fit for Houston.
I think that’s changing. They’re slowly pushing Fultz out of the rotation. They’ll need TJ. Unless we’re giving them a useful player they’ll need all the depth they have. They’re seriously lacking depth. Phoenix tried getting TJ from them in the summer. EDIT: I just checked the box score from tonight. Maybe not. He got a DNP
I’m sure MCW will be a $1,500,000 trade throw-in, just as soon as it can happen (December 15th?) Funny how MCW co**-teased us all in pre-season. Looked halfway decent. Then the games started to count. THUD.
Kemba Walker is only making $12 million so we can easily match that. It would be a rental since he's an UFA after the year. I think it's doable, but Morey I don't think will give up a any key rotation pieces for it. Just for the sake of CP3 injury insurance, Walker would be great.
