Jordan Peele on Making Movies After 'Us': "I Don't See Myself Casting a White Dude As the Lead"

"I don't see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I don't like white dudes," he said, nodding over to his moderator pal Roberts. "But I've seen that movie."

    Now replace white with black....

"I don't see myself casting a black dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I don't like black dudes," he said, nodding over to his moderator and black friend pal Roberts. "But I've seen that movie."

Gosh, there just arent enough opportunities for white actors Hollywood and people like this are the reason why.

We really need to do something about the black female monopoly on power in Hollywood.

I was flipping through movies yesterday and couldn’t find 1 with a white lead.

Also this quote is old AF.

Oh damn, the time on discussing something expired? What's the limit on discussing something? Is that a guideline?

And what Hitler and the Nazis are a lot older. Like more than half a century ago.

Actually I like Jordan Peele and his work. I think he's a good writer and I don't care about his casting preferences. I just think it's amazing how there is a double standard to it. The dude is talented as hell though no doubt.

That's sooooo progressive! Let's replace more white people with black people. Extra progressive points if they are red heads. Racism solved.

I can't tell from your answer. Are you against the casting of a black family in a reboot of The Wonder Years?

Nope. Not at all. Not sure why they have just a black family though. Hopefully Kevin is played by a female who identifies as a man and Winnie is in a wheel chair so we can represent some more groups.

    And no red heads!

You’d sound pretty stupid saying “I’ve seen that movie (with a black lead)”. There’s only a handful of black actors that get that opportunity currently.

Perhaps to give a black perspective to growing up during that time frame?

I think that's a good idea. Especially the lack of red heads.

We've had plenty of black presidents over the past 12 years.

I think black is fine and I'm not against it. Especially the lack of red heads.

Especially no red heads bro. It's been a great 12 years and it's going to be greater in 2020 when Trump wins. Biden is too white. Trump is orange. That's diversity bro. How many orange presidents have we had?
