[Racine Journal Times] Rumor: Landry to Milwaukee for Villanueva?

Landry can bring the energy & hustle that this team desperately needs, something I wouldn't think Villanueva possesses. It'd better be just a rumor.

Just read some Bucks fans' comments about this rumor. Many Bucks fans like Head a lot. LOL

 

You do realize Scola is quite a good rebounder for his minutes, right? No less than Landry.

Landry, although very efficient on offense, can't create like Scola can and he is a poor defender.

 

I find this rumor as constructed unlikely based on the salary differences.

We are barely straddling the luxury tax line, and Charlie V makes about 500K more than Landry. Mihm makes about 500K more than either Barry or Head -- I'd find it very strange for us to go out of our way to dump Francis only to add $1 million in salary back for what is at best a marginal bench upgrade. Especially since it involves giving up a guy with 2 more years on a very reasonable contract.

This would make more sense to me if Bell, Sessions, or Ridnour were involved, but none of them can really shoot and Ridnour might be one of the worst defenders in the league.

Well Morey did say that when he made the Steve Francis trade, that it would let them take extra salary back.

Villanueva is very, very talented on offense, but, yes, he is a slacker and doesn't play defense. Those things don't change. Plus, he is 6'10", not 6'11". So no Landry for CV straight up.

But I'm intrigued by Landry+Head for Mihm+CV, if we don't get Deke.

Wasn't he rumored to come here last year? If so, someone really likes his game on the Rockets. Maybe its Adelman. He's the one that sought out Brooks.

 

Rockets are $982,242 under LT after the Francis trade.

Landry + Head for CharlieV + Mihm = $985,672
To stay under LT the Rockets either need substitute Head with Barry or waive Wafer

I think there's going to be a 3-way trade.

I've been reading other boards. It says that We will get Lue and CV, Bucks will get Landry and Barry or Head, but we end up trading Lue for Mihm

Makes sense for every team except us.

 

That's why I don't think it's going to happen.

 

If Skiles loves defensive players so much give them Hayes + Head for CharlieV. That scenario I don't mind.

Also trading Barry to the Bucks would be pretty lousy considering that one of the things Morey pointed out was that they enticed him with the idea of retiring as a Rocket.
