It'd be nice if Stevie or Aaron would emerge as the backup, but I think Barry will be the backup

Barry will come off the bench in the main distributor role like Tmac and i think AB will be our short SG.

AB, this will be his break out year, I'm sure of it. Barry might get some minutes at point, But I see Brooks as the backup.

I'm gonna pull a flip-flop on this one since the roster has changed. Steve has his money and he's never again going to get anything close to a big contract. So playing for more money is not going motivate him. He's not going to be the big dog on the team, so fame will not motivate him. He's on the downside of his career.

    But since the trade...

The addition of Artest gives him a chance to get a ring. I think every basketball player wants at least one ring for a little bit of pride down the road after leaving the game. And this is most likely the best chance that he will ever get a ring. Plus, with Bobby Jackson gone, he's not about to get beat out by a late round, 1 year player. So I think that pride and desire for a ring will push Steve to be a good backup and get some pt at the point.

If we can get a break on the health front, get something more than a stiff for a backup C and Steve comes back to 75%, there is no reason we shouldn't win it all.

My gut feeling is it will be Aaron Brooks. That's clearly our weakest position right now.

From the looks of the poll,

It's a close race in all of our minds. I chose Franchise, because I still remember his glory days of old.

Go Steve Go, regain the swagger you once had!!!!

Barry because of his experience, size and outside shooting. He would be better off as a 2 guard, but SF isn't ready to play and Brooks still needs a lot of time IMO.

What are you thinking? I don't see Battier for Hinrich,or even Rafer plus pick(s)/Head/Harris/Novak combo for him either.

After further thinking, I think Francis projects more as a backup at shooting guard than he does at point guard.

I still remember Francis struggling to bring the ball up to half court time in and time out - remember how he would always get trapped!!! Alston brings the ball up so fast, and the Rockets get into their play and usually have 20 to 18 seconds to get into their sets.

Even though I voted for Francis, it should be either Barry or Brooks.
