    Yao - this year and the last 2 drafts - no talent like that except maybe Davis. So if you had the top pick this year and the last 2 drafts you might get a Yao like player in Davis. But then again Davis might not pan out. And no others exist.

    And so what was your point again?

    Im just saying, with the 8,14,16 picks you can really improve a team as long as you don't do like someone suggested in another thread and draft Melo or something stupid with them.

    With the 8th, 14th, 16th,I would then trade 8th and Bud for the Blazers pick(6th).
    That could net us Beal or Barnes, Kendall Marshall and Arnett Moultrie.

    Well said. There is a difference between tanking and rebuilding, people seem to not understand that.

    I think the real question should be: is there a better time to tank vs retool (as we have tried)?

    Depends on what happens this offseason whether I want Morey fired or not. It wont matter which direction they want to take if they dont have the right guy. Rockets are about to find out if they do this offseason.

    I would be happy with the 8th and a 2nd rounder, then trade 14 and 16 for 7-11 range. And possibly trade Martin for a later pick or Dally expiring as Bima mentioned earlier today.
    8=Drummond (I think he will slip a couple spots)
    10=PJ3
    20's=Melo or Moultrie Or Teague

    These are coming from DraftExpress ranges.

    Dragic/Teague
    Lee/Bud
    Parsons/Morris
    Scola/PJ3/PatPat/Dmo
    Drummond/Camby

    Clearly Scola or PatPat will be dealt with that log jam at PF.
