    Honestly. . i maybe a bit biased
but . . If my son was going into the hospital
and some 8 yrs started scrubbing in . . . . I would have some serious issues with it

Of course the kid survived. What's the point of mentioning if the patient died?

Was Einstein a child prodigy? I heard he sucked at math when he was young?

So I'm more impressed with "creative" geniuses than genuises who have super memory.

These child prodigies, if they would just relax and think deep about one thing, anything and try to come up with an idea or theorem, that would be awesome!

His brain was underdeveloped in the areas associated with speaking/communication, and as a result, he didn't begin speaking until a later age. As he grew, his brain grew, and this resulted in the area of his brain that was responsible for numbers/calculation to compensate and grow larger than the norm. The end result was one of the greatest minds ever to walk the earth.

    Or something like that.

because we want humans who are capable of grasping various things and knowledgeable about topics outside of their career? a few courses in humanities doesn't kill you.

im fine with some grad/professional school programs should be offered during undergrad. but i do think geography is something everyone knows. is that asking for too much?

Einstein was always an amazing student. People say otherwise to serve as bit of motivation for slow learners.

Just so you know, Kim is his last name, making Yong his middle name. The surname comes first.

As unique as these kids are, it doesn't compare to Lebron James. These kids are probably 1 in 100,000 or even a million but there are other kids like them. Lebron on the other hand was playing against professional basketball players when he reached puberty. The dude is the "chosen 1".

Like the saying goes... if you think you're 1 in a million, there are 1,300 other people like you in China.

Sure, these kids may be smart. But I'd like to see what they can do on the TAKS test.

Well school should be more than just learning how to do a job. It is about getting a good education. So a doctor may not need to know British lit. But a well educated person might need to have some knowledge of it.

I agree. I think that's why America has come up with a lot inventions. If all you learn in school is how to be a cog in a machine then that's what you will do... very well. But you won't be able to design the machine and more importantly, design newer machines.
