so (excuse time) i got drunk one night and was a bit over the line in response to a post... and then i responded to his response even more ignorantly(admitantly)... soooo i recieved an infraction(i think it was because he was an older member, not so much that i was over offensive, although i was being a dick)... my question is can i still become a contributing member? i recently read a post that said he cant become a CB(contributing member?) because an infraction... now im kinda upset, because i wanna become one sooner or later, i am poor and in college but enjoy this site a little much and was hoping to donate in the soon future... so since i had this lapse in judgement(sorry...) can i never become a contributing member? because the post i read was from a bit older and respected member...
I don't think an infarction will stop you from becoming a CM. If you are referring to me I wasn't upgraded due to being banned on an account I created as a freshman in highschool or late middleschool. I probably posted something really stupid. Given that Clutch says he doesn't upgrade unless some serious time has gone by. That is actually a pretty fair rule since this site does so much for everyday fans whether you are a CM or not and it is upto Clutch on how to run his site. One issue that I do have is that there have been other members out there that did the same exact thing I did and have been given CM. RedRedemption is a really good poster so that might have something to do with it I did get an infarction the other day for posting something stupid but I guess all you should do is move on and try to make your posts insightful, helpful, and respectful to other members. There are some LOF on this board that were able to get CM status via a loophole because they were able to donate quickly and get upgraded before their true nature came out. Hope that helps, and just consult Clutch over it and donate anyways.
I have gotten so many infractions before, even on this account, for pretty petty and childish things. All in all, its Clutch's decision who to promote and somehow I fell through the cracks. Reading my posts from my previous accounts make me cringe.
Your posts are good, the ones that fell through the cracks would probably be the 2012 LOF that didn't have to be upgraded from rookie status by a mod and on becoming members just donated.
