There's a significant number of people who support Lin because there's an equally large group fans and media who beat him down. Everyone has a right to do or believe what they want. Whether you think they're genuine Rockets fans or not is moot.

 

Yao fans atleast had a case to be so zealous, Yao was a great, great player and with a superstar status. Lin is a solid player but his fans believe he is a allstar.
